Hello, I'm curious what the general opinion is of people on this forum: For free iPhone applications, how do you feel when the application has the word "FREE" in the lower portion of the icon. As an example, look at Crazy Penguin Lite: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=299566007&mt=8 They put the word "FREE!" at the bottom of their app icon. Does this affect your feelings toward the app in any way? Are you more likely to try it (since you know it's free), or does it make it less likely that you will try it? Do you think your feelings are true for the masses?
Well you can always purchase the full version. Having a huige FREE sign is the price you have to pay for getting it free (does that make sense?)
Well, they only seem to be for the iTunes version, because the app on your device can have a different icon. Plus, even if you download an app when it's at full price, if it's updated with a sale icon, iTunes will replace the original icon with the sale icon.
