But seriously, gotta go with Inglorious Basterds which just barely edges out District 9 for me. And of course let's not forget about Trailer Park Boys: Countdown to Liquor Day.
I liked Law Abiding Citizen and Up. Avatar wasn't that great mostly just eye candy. I'm yet to see Invictus. Oh and I loved Defiance and Watchmen, even though it was nothing compared to the book. Surrogates, District 9 and Taken were decent. Edit: Bat was right, Gran Torino was last year
Gran Torino kicked ass, but I'm pretty sure it was last year. I saw Invictus with some friends. Not a rugby fan, so didn't care for it much.
I don't know all of the movies from 2009, but I just bought the hangover and that was hilarious. I also bought Inglourious Basterds but haven't had a chance to watch it yet.
The Hangover was amazing. I don't know why, it just is. Hmmm, I liked Yes Man a lot, but that's probably cuz I'm a Jim Carrey fan. I still need to see a load of movies, though. District 9 is #1 on my list.
I bought District 9 on Blu-ray yesterday, which was nice since it's only officially released today in the UK so I got it early. ...but I didn't watch it, go figure. I'm gonna stick it on later tonight and see what he fuss is all about.
I enjoyed Avatar a lot, and it's definitely my movie of the year. However, there were tons of awesome movies this year so I'm hesitant to make a comparison.
It was a very George Clooney year! The last three movies that I've seen in a theater are The Men Who Stare at Goats, The Fantastic Mr. Fox and Up in the Air. All three were very good.
Well I just finished watchin' District 9... not bad, but not the best movie ever. The filming methods were a little inconsistent, but hey, it was the director's first serious attempt and he did admit to not having a clue the first few days.
i would have to go with MOON dont know how else to describe it but it was brutally honest it made you feel so bad for the dude it was uneasy to watch at least for me
