I'm going a trip after Christmas and I may as well download a movie from iTunes to watch on it.

What are your favourite movies of 2009?

    "Oscar-worthy" is an understatement.

That one is probably my favorite one too, though I didn't see that many this year.

I'm stuck between Avatar and District 9... I'm getting D9 on Christmas though, so I'll re-watch it then go watch Avatar and compare the two...

Up comes in a close third.

There wasn't one piece of CG in mall cop. Even though it's one of those "stupid-funny" movies, I can actually remember most of it, unlike most of the CG garbage that comes out these days like transformers/avatar/etc..

UP was very good though, I think pixar is the only ones who get it.

Does CG really make a movie bad? Even if it's realistic looking? People weren't too fond of animated films a few decades back either, but they quickly became accepted.

...and how about stop-motion? No one seriously dislikes The Nightmare Before Christmas! (which I just bought on Blu-ray, looks awesome).

The overuse of CG makes it bad. Stop motion is an artform in it's own right.

It's like, instead of CG, we started coloring in cartoon characters into movies with people in them, and slowly, we replaced more and more of the main characters with cartoons, it just doesn't work.

The only movie that did this right was roger rabbit.

basterd - 8 definitions - A clever misspelling of the word BASTARD used to ensure your movie title stands out when Googled.

Why would I go see a movie, when the title is trying so hard?
