The D-Pad bothers me as well... but I don't have to use it all that much thankfully. What did bother me were the triggers of the PS3 as well. However, easily remidied by these Ahh yeah. I mostly use GeOW for Gears anyways, but never thought about GeoW for Geometry Wars. Speaking of I want to play that now
If you're playing solo, get the PS3. Unless you reeeaaaallly want to play Halo, which I can say you're not going to be missing much if you're just doing Single Player. PS3's got HDMI, Blu-Ray, and a slew of great games that are exclusives. I only primarily use the 360 because that's the one all my friends use, the online service is a little more populated (I've gotten really fast at muting people, though), and I'm just more used to it. Uncharted 1 and 2 are a great place to start, as a suggestion.
Yeah I was alright with it for a while, but games seem to be using them more and more now for things like changing weapons and abilities... and then of course, MvC3 is on the way soon
I am so looking forward to a PS3 (noman i am in the same exact position as you almost lol) and Marvel vs. Capcom 3! the art is amazing
Also if you can get internet on the PS3 u get make sure to get the 250gb hard drive b/c it will hold a lot more DLC, games and other stuff
xbox has geometry wars. end of. (but seriously, ps3 ftw. way better hardware, ratchet and clank and free online. lack of geometry wars is a serious blow though.)
I have a 360, I love it, I play it way too much, I tell all my friends to get 360s, but you really should get a PS3, unless Mass Effect really interests you. Xbox 360 is better if you have lots of friends online, but in your situation I would get a PS3, ratchet and clank (one of my favourites, partially orgasmic). That's as honest an opinion gets, from a slightly fanboyish 360 user, make ratchet proud...
I wish I purchased both systems and purchased a Gamefly subscription instead. Spending 20 or so dollars a month to rent as many games you want 2 at a time is starting to sound really appealing to me. There's so many great games to play this generation and many of them offer 6-15 hour single player experiences which I probably would't want to play again anyways. I guess the selling point for games these days is the online vs and co-op but I'm not really big into those modes (with some few exceptions)
The way I see it... going to the movies in the UK costs around £10, for 90 minutes of entertainment. So £40 isn't really too bad for a game even if the campaign is only 8-10 hours long. Considering I never go to the cinema I'm getting a pretty good deal. Plus of course some games last much longer which is even better.
Found a bit more news on the Premium PSN. Appearently its going to be called PSN+ and will include a protection plan for the user's console and cross-game chat (Thank F*CK). http://playstationlifestyle.net/2010/05/26/get-what-you-pay-for-with-feature-rich-psn/
Nein. All partying goes in game. Like if you were to play BFBC2 or MW2, you invite people through the game and it creates a party that way. If the party disbands, no one can talk to each other and you have to reinvite eachother again. Mega frustrating. Not anything like XBL. XBL > PSN Because of that alone.
I'd gladly pay for it TBH. I hate not having it. Guess I got spoiled with XBL cause I hate not having it to death. Can't wait till PSN+ comes out, so long as its not more than $50 a year. I think it shouldn't be anymore than $30 if they want to compete, or they better offer way more features.
