Yeah, the majority kind of maintain an expectation that mobile games are to be cheap and console ones costlier. On one hand it made iOS a suitable market for indie devs, resulting in great unique gems; on the other hand to make bucks on it, freemium unfortunately works better.
This is why I hardly buy anything these days, not because something might go free (never worried me) but that it might go freemium. If Apple can tell that you bought something (like they did with Pages) surely developers can, or at least hopefully can in the near future.
yeah also depends on the dev, past games (quailty) and who they are. i mean come-on "Paramount" most expected freem/price drop and a basic gameplay overall. the movie, not so good (many unrealistic situations etc) and an over forgettable movie... not worth seeing at the theatre, mabe as a bored weekend $1 rental
