How's this game going? Any idea on releasing a beta? This game is just too amazing to throw away. Unlike Knights Rush. This trailer just makes the cute artwork and screenshots ten fold better
And just yesterday I was wondering what had happened to this game, ha. ^^ Awesome trailer! How many levels will there be in the game?
Things have been going very well. We are a super small indie team, (hence the unfortunate wait and lack of updates), but the game has come a long way and I cannot begin to describe how excited we are to unleash it upon the world Beta plans are still being discussed, should it go forward you'll definitely see an announcement in this thread. The number is not yet final, I hope to have an update on this for you guys soon. The wheel functions quite like a traditional analogue stick/d-pad in that you can slide your thumb over it to change your character's color on the fly. (Alternatively, you can use the colors on the wheel as buttons). The reason for changing color is to switch your immunities and attacking capabilities. While a certain color, you can defeat enemies of that same color and you're also invincible to all attacks (and projectiles) of the same color. Likewise, enemies and attacks of differing colors will harm you. Your color effects a few other interesting details as well (including "color combos"), and we hope to give more details in a blog update soon. The idea is to use quick-thinking to strategically change your color based upon constantly-changing and sometimes chaotic situations. We love twitch-based games that eventually become so crazy that the player must enter into a "zone"-like state in order to survive... and that's what we're trying to accomplish here Thanks again for all the support, guys!
Hooray and update! Fantastic trailer. Love the concept of having to switch colors to kill an enemy (Sort of like Helsing's Fire), the art is beautiful, and the multiple power-ups look awesome. This game has so much potential and I can't wait to see what you do with it after the release!
@Grumpyface Studios : a question popped up in my head as I watched the trailer again : will your game feature some kind of option for color blind people? As you use red and green, it may be hard for some colorblind people to actually play the game. I know Helsing's Fire now includes the possibility to modify the colors so that everyone can access the game, it could be a nice idea to add such a thing to yours
Yes, this is actually something we've considered since day 1. Our code is such that it allows us to easily alter the color palette across the entire game, so we will definitely have a solution available in our options menu.
Thanks so much, guys Just wanted to share an awesome new piece by one of our artists. Hope ya enjoy!:
Thanks Sammy! Passed your compliments on to him Here's a new Wispin article on ThePortableGamer.com that mentions some gameplay and feature details that might be new to you guys. Check it out!: http://theportablegamer.com/2010/08/colorbased-chaos-upcoming-wispin/
Hey peeps! I wanted to go ahead and extend an apology for the lack of updates, but I'm also happy to report that is Wispin has entered the final stages of development! (We'll be announcing an exact release date before the end of the month) I'd also like to announce our plans to hold a small, quick beta to help us iron out the remaining bugs and gather some last-minute feedback. If you'd be interested in joining (and you have some free time to provide us with semi-short write-ups (we want to hear opinions!)) send an invitation email to: [email protected] Please include: 1) Your name, email, and a quick blurb about your gaming habits/preferences and any experience with testing iOS games 2) Your Device Type 3) Your Device OS Version 4) Your Device UDID Also feel free to use the email above for any questions. The beta is going to be relatively short, so please only apply if you have a little bit of free time to dedicate over the next 2 weeks. Looking forward to sharing more very soon.. for real this time
