Hi All, Dicey Dice has just been updated and is now available FREE in the App Store. It's a path drawing game in the vein of flight control, with a number of variations and challenges and somewhat more frenetic gameplay. I'm looking for some reviews and thought I would pull together this promo. Prizes - Two x $50 cash prize via PayPal (or $50 iTunes voucher if you can't accept PayPal). - Two x $10 iTunes vouchers How to Enter Simply get the FREE app from the App Store and leave a review. Then post here or PM me on this forum with your iTunes username and the store(country) that the review was left in. Judging One prize ($50) will be awarded to the review that receives the most "Helpful Review" yes votes. One prize ($50) will be awarded to the review that I personally judge to be the most informative. The other prizes will be awarded to randomly chosen participants. Competition closes on the 10th of June. So you've got around a month to gather lots of thumbs ups!
Left a review in the U.S. App store, Dcalbie. I'm loving the game so far, got hung up on 1-9. I can't see any reviews for Dicey Dice, there were some there yesterday...
Hi all, thanks for all the positive comments, I'm glad you like it! Also have you managed to find the hidden keys? They aren't all in the levels...
reviewed. agreed a worthwhile addition to the cramped springboard, if you like path tracing game genre. well done !! Thanks for a great contest !
Very interesting contest. One entry has amazingly received 14 helpful reviews and everyone else has been listed as unhelpful. Not accusing anyone of anything, just pointing it out.
Yeah maybe not the best way to decide the winner, but obviously I have to stick by the original post. There's still the itunes vouchers which are given out randomly
Unfortunately I can't really change the rules after posting. HOWEVER I will be looking at adding an additional prize for the review that *I* judge to be the most helpful. Stay tuned!
I think we should be glad we have an opportunity to get these contests. How the devs want to do them is up to them. It really is not anyone's place to ask for a change of rules. Just know that you will have a good chance of a dev awards the most helpful reviews, but it is unfair to come into a competition and ask a dev to adjust rules to your benefit. Thanks to the devs for feeding our addictions.
It has nothing to do with "my" benefit as you can clearly see by looking at my provided examples. Can't see how you took that away from what I said, but whatever. The apple rating system is easily manipulated and is far from accurate for contest judgement. How would you like it if wrote the review, "Good game", then asked all 500 of my facebook friends to log into itunes and mark my review helpful for the grand prize? That's fair to you or someone who wrote an excellent review? Sorry, but I definitely don't agree. I'm here voicing my opinion with examples. I think it's fantastic a developer is throwing a contest, but is it for the same person that's been winning hundreds over the past month here? So far it is. My request was simply for a more fair way of contest judging since the contest is already being tainted by one reviewer in particular.
I am not going to bother checking you examples. I am simply stating that you should not ask for a change of rules, your benefit or not. The dev gets responses to their contest no matter what. Some of us will give detailed reviews, others will give their two word reviews. At that point, we let the devs decide what they want to do. By saying those who leave such reviews should be bypassed, it is for your benefit (and mine too). But that is not fair to them as they complied to the original rules as well, whatever they are. I am not taking a shot at you in any way, I am just asking you respect the devs decision, whether you like it or not.
You both have good points, but I'm very hesitant to change competition rules. Instead I will add an additional prize of $50 to the review that I personally judge to be the most informative. Be great if you can click a few iAds to help me cover this cost
