For me it's all about the convenience and portability and functionality. The iDevices offer options that portable gaming systems don't. That's not to say I haven't tried. I have a PSP that I used for about 2 weeks before it started spending more time in a drawer than in someone's hands. Besides that, it's big and the games are very expensive comparatively. I've also played around with various Nintendo handhelds. And the PSPGo I think is a train-wreck (they are attempting to mimic the iPhone software distribution model but I just don't see this working for Sony like it did for Apple).

So, since my iPhone can not only play some pretty great games (Catan, Archon, Orions, Charmed, Spider, Slay, Strongholds, Durak, Civilization, etc.) but it's an outstanding media player, great for web surfing, useful for email/IM/twitter/facebook/etc.

It's all about the device being not only great at media but doing EVERYTHING I want a mobile device to do (this is why my previous go-to device was Windows Mobile based - it could do it all and still fit in my pocket!). So I don't see me being terribly interested in new mobile gaming-only devices. It would just wind up being another case of a $200+ device sitting in a drawer after a short time.

I don't know why I wouldn't. The devices are in different markets, blah blah blah broken record (;))

Seriously...I have all of the current three, and there's enough exclusives on each that are so great that it's worth having all three if you're a gamer. Also, as my gaming habits tend to skew more and more to quick play games and I have less time for two or more hour gaming sessions, I find myself gravitating to the portable game systems like DS and PSP and mobile platforms like iPhone/touch more than I do the home consoles.

As a multisystem user (what the hell...I've always got a bag with me anyway) I'll most likely get 'em all. iPhone/touch will be for what it always was (portable computing and media with games on the side) and PSP2 and DS2 would fulfill the need for games that are a bit longer than mobile, but bite size enough that they aren't home console games and fit within my available time. Plus, again, the exclusives: I won't find God of War on iPhone/touch, and neither will I find Mario or Metroid.

Oh, and btw...ZuneHD is pretty much the "portable" XBox (albeit in a mobile device). Won't run original XBox games, mind you, but MS is starting game development on the mobile platform. Project Gotham and a few other games are coming, apparently.

Accuring to the poll it looks like over 50% of iPhone OS Users won't buy a Sony or Nintendo portable.

If you extrapolate the numbers, that's over 25.000.000 Customers that Nintendo and Sony lost or failed to motivate buying their product.
