      i was reading a article saying it will be released on july 17th
      along with the new iphone model

      Hopefully it will be released this week. Why else would Apple push iTunes 8.2 so early? The timing of the release of the Palm pre also would also add pressure for Apple to update the iPhone so that it does have copy and paste.

      I'm pretty sure there'll be a new model. The iPod touch is basically an iPhone without the phone and GPS. And since they both run the same OS, if core hardware changes are made to one, the same changes are made to the touch. I'm not sure if they'll both be released at the same time, though.

      The new Ipod touch will be announced at the iPod event in , I think, September.
