Ding ding ding! The console itself is alright, but the lack of great games means no one wants to put the effort into digging it out and dusting it off just to play Goldeneye.
Because it's not on the iPhone But seriously, I would rather have it on pretty much any other console, including the PC than a Wii. Also, tone it down a bit, you seem to get pissed off at everything now...
Say what you will about the Wii, ever since playing a FPS on it, I haven't been able to play one on any other platform. I pulled out my N64 recently and couldn't play Goldeneye. Damn you and your wonderful controls, Wii! So yeah, can't wait. It also helps that Nintendo isn't evil.
I was going to write a series of complex points debating the various reasons for the hate, but then I realised that it could all be condensed down to this: -It's on the Wii -People don't like the Wii Therefore: -People don't like GoldenEye That's pretty much the sad truth. I'm rather looking forward to it, personally. I like FPS controls on the Wii.
why would anyone ever care for an fps on the wii? a) the wii is a piece of sh*t. and no i'm not only talking about graphics. a modern console without ethernet? seriously? b) the wii controller is a piece of sh*t. granted, it may be fun for about 5 minutes to swing around a tv remote like an absolute lunatic, but neither serious nor relaxed gaming is possible with the wiimote. the only kind of game that actually really makes sense with a wiimote is a lightgun shooter. c) the game library is absolutely horrible for serious gamers. after four years on the market, so called "core gamers" will have probably 20 titles (at most) that are worth playing. that is more than insufficient. that pretty much also is the reason why nintendo alienated many old hardcore fans. d) online gaming with the wii is just cumbersome. that are the four worst reasons i (and many other people i know) do not like the wii. and yes i was owner of a wii (twice) but i got rid of it (twice). i can pretty much pass on those 2 or 3 games a year that might actually peak an interest...
I understand where most of you are coming from, and to think about it I feel stupid; Kotaku made a valid point. - I just hate my Xbox 360 a lot because it damages the discs, and makes thing shit.
ask anybody that is into serious online gaming about wifi/ethernet. ethernet generally offers a steadier, faster connection with lower latency. especially when playing an fps this can and will make the difference between a kill or being killed (comparing two similar skilled players). even unexperienced players can often see and feel the lag that is in many cases caused by wireless connections. so yeah, this is 2010 and wireless still sucks... and yes, you can fault the console. why would anybody in their right mind buy that console if it has nothing to offer? would you buy the console just for goldeneye when you play all your other games on pc/ps3/x360?
The excuses some people will resort to are ridiculous. The wireless connection between my router and my laptop is 54Mbit... that's a whole 36 times faster than my actual internet connection, do you really think it's gonna struggle? I've been playing online games via WiFi for years, on my laptop, 360, PS3 and Wii, and by and large it's perfect. If you genuinely have problems it's your crappy setup.
The haters are the ones that didn't play the original. All my friends that played the original are excited while others that havn't are more excited over black ops. Personally this is the FPS that got me into playing fpses. The greatest FPS ever both single player and multiplayer!
Activision publishes COD. The upcoming cod (black ops) is made by treyarch the same company that made world at war while infinity ward made the mw series.
what the heck are you talking about? did i ever mention having any problems? putting other factors aside this is the most crucial part about wifi but please let us leave it at that, as this was not the initial topic. i just wanted to make the point that a console that sees itself as a modern gaming system should at least grant a player the opportunity to make the most of his/her connection. which brings us back to the wii being a subpar system, which brings us back to the hate many people have for the wii, which brings us to why many people don't even care about the goldeneye remake.
Lol there are so many good games on the wii that is the reason I bought my wii before ps3. Most of the good wii games are nintendo published. SSBB, Mario Kart,so many good games. And if you didn't realise this , routers are as good if not better than ethernet. The reason you think this is either a) You are a 360 gamer who doesn't get built in wifi b) Never had a good router c) Just trolling. Online gaming is fine , it has no lag whatsoever and is free. I think nintendo has the best exclusives out of the 3 consoles. And it's those 2 or 3 games a year that made wii the number one best selling console of this console generation.
I take it you're unfamiliar with the 2002 antitrust charges laid against Nintendo for anti-competitive price fixing dating back to the early 90s that resulted in one of the largest fines the European Commission ever levied against a company. [link] Prior to that, in the latter half of the 80s they were slapped for giving retail chains kickbacks for reducing shelf space for competitive products to make more room for theirs. (No linky for this one; this news predated the web and I don't subscribe to those pay news search thingies.) So, yes, like most highly competitive companies, they've oozed their share of evil. To the topic, I think one of the issues here is that Goldeneye was probably one of the most beloved of N64 FPS games and the idea of releasing a potentially crap updated version with motion controls offends a lot of the original game's hangers-on.
Wii has alot to offer. I play games on ps3/wii/pc just because they have very different games. I play exclusives on wii , mmorpgs on pc , and games like FF13/red dead on ps3. They all have there good and bad. And besides I think golden eye would be awesome for wii.
