I am still on 2.2.1 and I would stay there. I don't pay for firmware updates. period. however we are going to release our first game in a couple of months, so I have to upgrade to 3.0 otherwise I cannot test it for 3.0 ... sigh cheerio, brof
I think they should sell it for £3 instead of £6 and make iPhone users pay aswell, even it out a bit.
while i'd obviously prefer to get it for free, especially since i just started using apps around march, so thats when i paid to upgrade to the 2.x os and now they want me to pay again, my main problem with the upgrade costing $10 is that they designed it for the iphone, then give it to iphone users free and charge touch users to upgrade to os that is not designed for that device, and therefore, touch users are paying for less (or in the case of 1 gen touch users, mush less) content while iphone users are getting full usage of all features for free. seems like touch users are having to pay to get the short end of the stick. i wouldn't have a problem paying for os updates if apple would quit being lazy and develope touch specific os to accompany iphone os instead of using the same os. as is, i have a problem paying right now, especially for buggy os. so for me, i will wait until i'm forced to update or at least until they work all the bugs out.
