I'm better than any girl I know in gaming, so this isn't quite right.

Well, I'm a guy, and in my opinion girls are less likely to be into games than guys. That's probably a mix of genetics, the way they're raised, and peer pressure. But, if a girl is into video games, or plays often they can easily be just as good, if not better, than any guy. I have an older sister, who's into games and when I was 4 she sat me down on her SNES and I played Super Mario World and Donkey Kong Country all the time. I still think Super Mario World is one of the best games of all time too. So summary - less girls play, but the ones that do are equal to guys that play.

    Don't forget special cases ;)

My girlfriend just pulled 30 hit combos more easily than any man in the room at Ninja Gaiden 2 on Saturday.

It isn't right that you don't know enough girls.

It's hilarious. I mean, I don't think it shows reality, but it's funny in the way that racist jokes are funny even though you know those stereotypes aren't true. That is, I'm not racist or sexist, but I think jokes that make fun of stereotypes are funny (but not true).

When the ladies pick a game, watch out!

Using my wife and sister-in-law as examples, I find women tend to really stick with their game of choice and can be very competitive!

Their current game of choice is Bejeweled Blitz. They both are constantly competing against each others Facebook scores on a nearly daily basis and now, with the ability to do so on their husbands' iPhones from time to time only makes this addiction worse, I guess.

Another example of this I heard with a co-worker's mom being a huge fan of Age of Empires. She's been playing this game for years in single-player (campaigns and skirmishes, I guess). He pointed out to her that there have been a number of sequels but she couldn't care less, she already has her game of choice and is sticking to it.

I'll often try to show my wife other games in the same spirit as Bejeweled but she'll have none of it. I too like Bejeweled Blitz but, being Mr. ADD with new iPhone games coming out daily, just don't spend enough time with her game of choice to still be that competitive with her or my sister-in-law.

    So There!

I think that's bizarre to be honest. I don't have anything against it per se, but I just don't see how a game can keep it's appeal for that length of time. I love games, but the way these people just stick to one and don't let up is just... weird.

Yeah, seriously! Everytime I played Soul Calibur 4 against a girl, I got my face handed to me. Maybe it's because all my girl friends choose the girl characters and I'm a dude character and the chick characters are just better?! (Not likely, but that is my excuse. ;) )
