The 9,7" display is just the beginning an I wonder, when Apple will produce iPads with larger screens. For me for example, the iPad would be to small for home use but to big for using it in public transport. So if it would be like 13" or even 15", 17" or 24", at least it would be more of a use at home. So tell me forum, when do you expect a bigger iPad? I mainly waiting for them to add a camera and I don't really care about a bigger ipad. Btw I loved your addition of (if the world still exists).
haha Boy aren't people just getting spoiled nowadays. @The Game Reaper lmao Next thing you know iWorld comes along.
Well first they add the camera, then they bump the screen resolution from the pitiful 1024*768 it currently is - and they sell that bump as "Watch films in HD quality!" - and then the bigger might arrive. So that's 2 years. Can't help thinking that if anyone buys the first gen ipads then they are doing so for the 'shiny!' factor because it makes absolutely no sense to buy it.

If you look at Apple's website, the iPad can play HD video... And they would do it in one year, and pitch it as "Record and watch your own videos in HD!"
I saw that on Gizmodo. I'm guessing the iPad is the perfect size, but you know Apple, they're full of suprises. -sigh-
They would have to add some funcionality to the ipad If I were to buy one such as a camera and multitasking and USB slots so I could plug in a controller and a hard drive and disc drive etc. Bottom line is that if the ipad can't replace my laptop then it is an oversized piece of junk. Forgot one thing: The ipad does so little that it can't compete even with a netbook which is almost useless itself.
Okay - the display is 1024*768 which is 4:3 but HD doesn't run in 4:3 it runs 16:9 so on the ipad that means lovely black bars. That means a smaller picture and that hardly makes for a good viewing experience. So saying it runs HD is a long way from saying it runs HD ideally. Apple call the ipad "high-resolution" - really?
There are already tablet computers that try to match and exceed the functionality of a laptop or pc. Apple is not after that market with the iPad. Instead they are trying to exploit a niche that they see, but which may not exist, between handhelds/smartphones and notebooks/laptops. Which means: The size remains the same. The iPad either succeeds or vanishes as a product based on the size. Meanwhile... They should add phone capability for the iPad just for the comic value of seeing people walking around and chatting with that giant thing held up to their ear.
