Just a question to be sure. the first time I mad ethe mistake not changign the date on a new app. next time I set it to teh future, and back at the time it was approved - it showed on the section list on top then but not on the whats new list. the strategie for a NEW app is to leave the date in the past, wait for the approval and at the same day set it to the same day ??? then it will show in the "whats new" also ? ANd hwo long is the time windows to make changes to now possible then (1/2 day is lost due to time zones for example etc.?)
Well I am finding this extremely frustrating indeed. My game was approved on the 8th, yet the update for my game was approved today. So first thing this morning, the moment I found it was approved, I changed the release date to todays date. That was at 08:30 this morning. It's now 14:40 (UK) and it is STILL showing 8 pages down the iTunes list as released on the 8th! How long am I supposed to wait? Before I know it, it will be tomorrow and my game will never be in the top pages! How the hell am I supposed to sell my game if no-one knows its out?!
In the german store it shows as released at 15 may, but under which category do you have it - I cannot find it there.
I have it listed under Games/Action and Games/Arcade. Looking at my apps page, it does indeed show as 15th May in the UK now too. However, if you go to Apps/Games/Action it is several pages into the list, and still with the old date. One major problem I have found- I changed the date in iTunes connect to todays date, which is the 16th. When it was approved, it is the 16th here in the UK. But it must have still been yesterday in the US, which is why the actual date shown in the store is the 15th. How are we supposed to know, when we don't know which time zone it's using? Now I'm trying to change it to the 15th and it keeps telling me no changes have been made so there's nothing to save! ARGHHH!
I see it on the first page of Games/Arcade, but don't see it in Games/Action (at least not yet). Once the release date has been set, which is has, it can't be changed again until the next update. Anyway, it's bumped to the top of the list for the weekend (which I've found has the best sales), so that's a good thing. --Eric
Thanks Eric- yes, I looked after you said, and PJ is now on the first page (finally) of Games/Arcade but not Games/Action (which I would have preferred out of the two, but still). So I should just leave the date set to 16th then (even though I can't change it anyway)- seems to be working ok. I just hope it turns up in Games/Action soon.
that might take a time and the categories are not in sync as I saw on my update. In germany I cannot see it neither inaction nor in arcade (its the german spielhalle I assume).
It's there now. In iTunes anyway; doesn't seem to be showing up under new releases in the App Store app on the device for either category yet. These things just take a while to propagate apparently.... --Eric
Wahay!!! Thanks very much for the heads-up Eric. Yes, it's on the UK store too- page one! Nice of you to check for me. Must just take a while longer for the device list to update. [UPDATE] Now updated on the device store too. Sorted.
My ClapBoardLT yesterday wa approved, and I set the date to 30. But it still did not show in photografie or utility ? Isaw tht ony on App has a date of 30 in theshop the last were all from 29 --- thsis inthe german shop, please can anybody have a look if this is worldwide. Our lite was otherwise totally for the garbage.
Give it some time. On the day it becomes available, try to download and make sure the new version is up. The description may not show the new version, but it will be there. After checking your app to make sure everything is OK, update the date to be the day it became available. Then ... wait. You just have to wait. Slowly, your app will trickle onto the store under recent releases. There is no magic I know of to make it trickle faster or to control when it shows up. Our latest That Ain't It! update was approved 5/29 and I think it was put on the store near midnight, Apple time, on 5/30.
