Did a search on here and wasn't able to find a thread. If there is one, can someone please point it out. Been thinking of getting a twitter app for my iphone. Did a google search and looks like its either Tweetie or Twittelator Pro. Any recommendations? Thanks!
Tweetie & Twitterrific Premium. Both the best twitter clients hands-down and absolutely worth the money.
I think Twitterific is definitely the best looking, and it got an update recently adding a load of stuff it was missing before. It was good back then, it's awesome now.
Tweetie was my twitter client of choice since it came out Once the update for Twitterific came out I got the free version atebits is supposed to have a big update for tweetie coming so I'm crossing my fingers and hoping it's good enough to dethrone twitterific. Tweetdeck is ok, what makes it great is it's ability to sync with the desktop version of it. On my mac I use the desktop version of Tweetie so it does me no good
Sorry everyone, but I disagree... Twittelator Pro is indeed the best. Sure it'll set you back a cool $4.99, but it has over 150 features and after I got tired of none of the free ones doing much for me, it was the obvious choice. I've never looked back. @hawkmankt BTW
It's also fugly I'd say it depends on how much of a hardcore Twitterer you are, a lot of people wouldn't need all of those features. I certainly don't which is why I saved the cash and went with the free version of Twitterific.
I pretty much have all the popular clients on my device... here is my take: Tweetie is my default, it's the fastest with every feature I want. v2.0 is coming in the next few months (hopefully, it's a complete rewrite of code) so I am pretty excited for that. Hopefully there is room for me to beta, I was part of the 2.x beta but since then got a new device with a new UUID. TwitterFon is my second favorite. I beta for this app and coming up pretty soon is an update that's going to own the Twitter Client market on the iPhone for a while. Twitterific looks great and since its most recent update (v2.1) it includes all the features I would expect an app to have at v1.0. Twittelator Pro has a million features, it's crazy. But it is without a doubt the slowest client and the one I experience the most crashes with. If the speed was increased and it had less crashes I might love it more than Tweetie. TweetDeck is pretty fun. I love how the tabs work and how it can sync with the desktop client. Pretty neat.
If you want a full featured twitter app I'd go with Twittelator. Tweetie I found to be a case of style over substance.
Nobody mentioned SimplyTweet which I've used to replace all the others... http://cdnn.wordpress.com/2009/07/12/simplytweet/ http://cdnn.wordpress.com/2009/08/10/simplytweet-rapid-development/
I am a beta tester for SimplyTweet, and I really like it. It was one of the first to implement push for @s and DMs. The UI is intuitive and easy to navigate.
SimplyTweet v2.2 just released last night: What's new - Add support for 3GS uploading video (single video, optionally with multiple photos) to Posterous and yfrog - Add support to view a user's favorites from the account view - Add support for search for replies (@whoever) to a user from the account view - Add option for larger text size - Add option to display Real name instead of Account name in timelines (doesn't apply to search timeline due to Twitter API restriction) - Add "Conversation between us" function in Account view (bottom left button in toolbar). - You can now post media (picture/video) without typing any text - Bug fixes
