I just finished my AP world history test today and the Roman Empire is obviously the greatest empire. It was one of the largest land wise and had some of the most important advances in history. The great advances in government and language made it the most important empire in history. The mongol empire was not important at all because it simply relied on expansion. When they stopped advancing they almost instantly fell apart. Also Alexander the greats empire was slightly more improtant because they brought Greek influence to most of the Persian empire but was also a short lived empire and fell apart fairly quickly once alexanders generals died.
True, but it was one of the largest and the longest-lasting empire in the history of the world. For the people back then Rome ruled the entire civilized world. It may have not made huge scientific or cultural advances but the order it brought to the world in its time is Nothing like we have today. After the Roman empire fell it plunged the world into the dark ages because it was so vital to the world. Also, the byzantine empire which was the remnant of the Eastern Roman Empire stood until 1453, the date which many historian's consider the end of the medieval ages. My point is, though it may not effect today's world a whole lot it completely dominated the era it existed in. And that is why it's the greatest empire ever to exist.
I voted for the Roman Empire because they had great technology. Das Dritte Reich was the hell on earth. I am german and I hate Nazis and I hate Hitler. I can't believe that 2 guys voted for Das Dritte Reich...
Lol what the hell... Qing Empire? You just had to put one of the most messy ones up there. If you know nothing about Chinese history then don't bother putting it up there.
