If you want a game with a good story then you cant go wrong with the Broken Sword series or Beneath a Steel Sky

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Monkey Island games. They all have this goofy, weird kind of humor.

Phoenix Wright is the best of all !
Other great story that I like :
Puzzle Agent, Chateau of Dr Moreau, XIII Lost Identity, Broken Sword, Nick Chase, Gamebook Adventures

Thanks guys, I don't think a point and click is what I really want to play, So I got ASH, That's the style of game I am looking for, But the light version of chateau de Moreau was pretty fun. And is Chrino Trigger really bad on iPhone ?

Can't answer the other questions, but a few other games that have pretty good plotlines:

    Secret of Mana
    Mage Gauntlet
    Dungeon Hunter 1 + 2
all of the Final Fantasy games
Pygmies Hoglet has a plot in kind of an off-color, silly way
Wild Frontier is a KRPG with a better plot than most others.

With Phoenix Wright 123 HD coming, you'll have a huge amount of story.

It sucks cause I imported the 2nd DS game for much more than the 1200yen asking price on iOS just a few weeks ago.

PW's story is quirky, emotional and well written though.
