Hm, let me think, I knew about the Reigns copies because I found them recently. Then I looked up the devs for more copies and found the other games. All in all like 5-10 minutes maybe. It took more time to post them here!#
Btw: I didn't really want to make this a report fakes thread or a blame Apple thread, I'm just really curious to see suggestions to make the App Store a better place.
Sure, that wasn't my intention. I just wanted to show up that there are a lot of copies from quality games around. And these guys are fast, sometimes it just takes a few days and their copy is on the market. First things first, Apple has to take iOS gaming serious! They need a team that is responsible for the game quality! No copies anymore! A much much better organization inside of the app store! There are so many good games that get lost, because of all the crap ones out there. Maybe they couldn't find the right one, but I would do it!#
I totally agree with you and we both pointed out that finding fakes is not something that takes a lot of time to do. The total revenue of the app store in 2016 was $28 billion and Apple took 30% of that revenue. So they have more than enough money to hire someone to spot the fakes. But I wish we try to think positive and come up with solutions to make the App Store a safe place where people could download a random game and have a good time.
That is 8.4 billion turnaround for Apple. If the income from sales would increase by a mere 0.0012% from increased consumer trust in the products on the App Store, the costs of the two employees I suggested would be covered. (Assuming 50k cost for each of the Assessors, - 25k wages, 25k overhead; it seems reasonable that somewhere in the world these numbers should be applicable for this simple task) (different cost would of course skew the numbers, but any reasonable estimate will result in a positive outcome at a fraction of a % increase in sales).
