    Hear me out-

Dead Cells, the metroidvania rogue-like has been consuming my soul since its release. But I can't help shaking the feeling that it would be PERFECT for the mobile platform. The individual runs would be perfect for on the go sessions, or long sit downs. Yes, the speed of the game coupled with touch controls could be an issue, however, seeing as Binding of Isaac: Rebirth will likely never see the Afterbirth+ DLC released, it would be awesome to have another solid roguelike on mobile outside of the few that are already on iOS. mFi controller support would be a god send, but seeing games like Dust ported, with a combat system that isn't too dissimilar to dead cells, handle touch controls with relative ease (in my opinion, this is entirely subjective), I dont think that Dead Cells having solid touch controls would be too much of a stretch.

Is this is a pipe dream? Most likely. The dev hasn't made any mention of porting the game to mobile, and I can't imagine that a mobile port would become a focus, what with everyone losing their marbles over it on console and PC, but I wish upon a star that someday I boot up my iPhone and there is Dead Cells, saying "play me you big beautiful bastard" and I would....I would play it. Till my fingers bled.

Input, thoughts, insults..... all welcome. Input on a potential control scheme would also be rad, lets make this a discussion....so I can send it to the dev and harass him till my dream becomes a no contact order.

Asked them for this via their facebook page, waiting for reply.
Even if they reply "no at this time" it still good to ask! :)

Did you ever played the higher difficulties (1/2/3/4 boss cells)? I can‘t imagine playing those on a touch screen.
    But who knows?

It has the potential to be perfectly adapted to mobile. With MFi it would be amazing; and possibly with touch controls but they'd have to be spot on due to the frantic action and no-room-for-error input. They could price it between $10-20 and sell a lot I'm sure.

I know it's nothing like it, but you should check out Tallowmere if you haven't already. It has MFi controls and I love playing it on my ipad.

See?! Someone gets it! It would be perfect for mobile, now how do we hold the dev hostage until that happens?

I'm going to go with the following reasons why this is a hard sell:

    TL;DR version
I recall visiting someone who lives in a bit of a remote area. He cites how awesome it'd be if Trader Joe's would open a shop in their town, rather than having to drive 1 hour to their closest location. I hear otherwise that people who live even further away ALREADY drive 2.5 hours just to shop there. There's no point for them to incur the extra expense of running another store when your customers are already going that extra distance. Here, it seems like people will just get this for Switch if they want to play on the road

    1) Very few people bother with such accessories

I looked it up.. $12 at Walmart. It's larger than the phone itself. Those that seem more compact go for $70.
    1a) either too costly, or
    1b) too bulky

    2) those who want to play this on-the-go probably already have a Switch
I've played this numerous times on a Switch. The controls are good. Your solution of Mfi controller + iPhone is already covered by a Switch. I just don't see enough of the casual gaming audience to bother pursuing this.
As a bonus, the Switch has a whole slew of premium games to boot. Don't get me wrong, I've played a few freemium/free-to-play games for months and years, but I'm mostly done with them this day in age.

    3) price
Steam and Nintendo direct digital download charge $25 for this. I don't know how pricing structure works out on Switch, but Steam and iOS both will have a 30% cut taken. A previous post suggests $10 to $20. Unless the iOS gaming consumer culture has changed in the past few years where it's no longer "sacrilege" to charge more than $10 for a game, then sorry, but I can't see enough volume to make up for only half price or less. No point. On Steam (barring sales) and Switch, you have an audience who tends be more fine with spending more money for games, and less whiny to boot

    4) Maintenance
And then there's the OS. iOS gets major updates every year or 2. Steam and Switch should have much longer cycles. iOS devs have left the industry b/c even if they can pour in time to get it up-to-date with the latest version of iOS, there's no guarantee the next update won't break things, and result in a high amount of time to deal with. And remember, they don't allow charging for updates on iOS, so that work'll be for no extra gain. If they could charge more for the game, then it may not be so bad.
