Hehe. Done. I am so glad you like the music. See my sig to listen to the full version if you want to. The cut-down version that's in the trailer is actually the main menu music that greets you when the game loads.
Read the lines about the sound effect. Good stuff. Thanks. According to you for using the shiny effect for the look of your game. I don't like it too much, even for your logo (it's just my opinion, of course), but it's better to have a style than various looks. Again, great job and I'm glad to see you publishing your game in such a short time. If this is the start, I expect you'll make something big in a near future. Be cool.
Congrats! Looks like an interesting new angle on beat-em-ups (I suspect the viewpoint and control mode might suit better than the side-ons would have too).
Well well well... I was wondering how progress has been, looking great man!!! I really wish i would have pushed myself into buying that mac, you really have me second guessing myself on that. I'm jealous! Seriously though i know you are busting your butt, and I'm sure it's gonna be good! Can't wait to play! Gratz!
Congratulations, Yuthe! I'll be grabbing this. From our past conversations, I hope you start work on a dogfighter next!
sorry buddy, i am reporting you.......... woah............just listened to the full music and woah did you make it?
Thanks all. Just added 2 more items to the list on the first post: - Play in in both landscape orientations- which ever you prefer - Automaticly saves after each Campaign fight
That's ok, I'll just ban you! Seriously, glad you like the music. Yes, I write my own. I have 2 instrumental music albums, created using GarageBand on my Mac Pro.
Shouldn't it be "Fists of Justice"? Otherwise, looking great for your first app! What software did you use to create the animations and graphics? They are really well done
Well, I am a big Bruce Lee and Jet Li fan, and used Fist Of Fury and Fist Of Legend as inspiration. So you should complain to them too You could always fight one-handed if you like Regarding the graphics, I used Pixelmator- the cheap-mans Photoshop. I have emailed. Fingers are well and truly crossed pal.
Nice wasted! Looks great! BTW: All of guys have really supported me so much in learning programming. My second app is under review at the moment!
Also, regarding sound effects, a neat little addition (in my opinion anyway!) that you can't hear on the trailer is the sound of a punch MISSING. So when you or your opponent punches and it doesn't connect, a sound of wind is heard as the fist passes the ear of its target! Do a short sharp blow with your mouth and you'll know what I mean. Think back to those 80's martial arts films and that's the kind of effect.
The problem I have with trying to do anything multiplayer is the fact that these are all 2D sprites- how much work would drawing each character again but from behind take? Far too long. Until I learn 3D animation I'm afraid this one will have to be single-player only. But hey- it'll be the price of a chocolate bar, so I'm forgiven right? Erm... eh?
Actually that is something I have already thought of- at least powering up for a stronger punch, not necessarily a "supermove". However, even if I just do so for making the same punch more powerful it may make the game easier, and I have spent a lot of time already making sure the game is easy enough to get into but hard to finish. It is something I would very much like to add in an update, when I can take my time over it and make sure it works well enough without sacrificing difficulty. The opponents take a lot of damage off you already on the later ranks, and making them any faster is a BIG no no, for reasons I said in an earlier post. So, there has to be a balance between your powers and the opponent. Like I said, possibly something for a future update. It would certainly be easy enough to fit into the controls.
Congrats WastedYuthe. Well done for sticking at it. Finishing it off is like the hardest, hardest bit. Next comes the nerves of hitting the submit button Nice one. Looks great.
