Besides the first steam review I seen said they rate it up there with slay the spire and monster train, monster train is my favourite so the mere mention… AltsKev likes this. mastery51 Well-Known Member Oct 21, 2009 506 254 63 #4 mastery51, Jun 18, 2024 Last edited: Jun 20, 2024 It’s got quite a few difference from slay the spire. For one it has far less RNG, you have more control over your deck and how the game plays out. You get to build and rearrange your collected cards into your deck anytime during a no combat phase. Your playing combat deck has 20 cards (Max). You can purge cards in the discard pile to gain energy. You also see the rewards before you start a fight. It’s also got a slightly different blocking mechanic where “With threat, there’s no need to calculate how much damage you’re going to take at the end of your turn - it’s right there in front of you!” Play cards to reduce the threat level. raravan, LordGek, AltsKev and 1 other person like this. Reading around online it seems the dev is either a one man band or a very small group. I think with this port they just did the best they could with the resources and time they had. It shows also with the way the image is offset to one side just to avoid the camera area. So am at least grateful for this port and will probably give it some goes with the assistance of iOS zoom and see what happens from there. triwolf Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Sep 5, 2012 83 10 8 #9 triwolf, Jun 20, 2024 Does it have cloud saves? Things I’ve appreciated so far: * Solid and diverse puzzle dynamics in enemy setups. * Ability to plan deck archetype by virtue of being able to see card rewards in advance of choosing enemy encounters. * I consider reactive blocking a substantial improvement over the traditional preemptive style. * Design clearly prioritizes UI. Map movement is somewhat nuanced over the traditional tree structure, but selection UI makes the consequences of your choice quite clear. Readability is quite good for my aging vision on my iPhone 13 Pro. Given other people’s comments, perhaps there’s a flaw in the scaling for higher res phones? * I’ve only played the bleed/combo archetype so far, which is solid, but I can see the developer put some thought into organically branching specializations. * Upgrades, rather than being an integer increment, are a one-time revamp of the card. The changes can be quite substantive in terms of utility. Citronaut, Son of Anarchy, ste86uk and 2 others like this. This game is really good. The character and card art is great, the classes (so far at least) are very different from each other, and the battles can get quite challenging on the middle (hard) difficulty level. If I had one gripe (and I really don’t) it’s that with my schedule, an entire run can take a whole day for me. Adding gems to cards in your deck by dragging them all the way across the screen to the tiny names of your cards does feel a little less than perfect. I really think this is a step up for the genre, and the 9/10 on steam is well deserved. Oh, and there are TONS of unlockables. Here’s hoping the dev adds more classes (wizard?) in the future!
