We strive to keep the retro feel of the original game, however our version sports several enhancements such as multiplayer, leaderboard with achievements, buying / changing ships plus much more! - Classic Space Trader gameplay - Buy and change ships - Trade goods at different planet system - Upgrade your ship - Multiplayer 2-4 players - Leaderboards and achievements Help us improve the game by sending feedback! Visit out forums at: http://www.gamerealism.se/forum http://www.facebook.com/UnknownSpaceGame Thanks to all who have commented / reviewed so far! Note: Some users have noted that Unknown is unable to save progress with iPad and iOS 8. We are looking into this. In order to get multiplayer sessions up and running we propose everyone who is interested in playing multiplayer attempt to Join or Host a session on Thursdays at 20:00 CET. Note: We have seen a number of reviews that refer to Unknown as something else, while we certainly enjoy all the nice reviews we just want to point out that Unknown is nothing other than a remake, it is not any other game. We would also like to see some reviews on how the multiplayer functionality works as we haven't been able to test this other than in a small scale locally. Note: There presently is no manual (we're working on it), but there are many resources online for similar games. For instance, search for "space trader flight manual"..! Note: Some have been asking how multiplayer works -- Just go to Multiplayer -> Quick Match (or Custom Match) and try joining a game (if there is any available)! I also think that this game had a gigantic impact on gaming. Having myself put over 200 hours (or much more) into Elite on my C64 and later, Amiga, I always loved it. The real beginning of vector gfx and 3D. Thanks alot! 3parkbenchhydra Well-Known Member Mar 20, 2012 147 0 0 #4 3parkbenchhydra, May 4, 2012 Love it! Thank you! Shame, as would an elite on the iPad. You think Braben would do it himself. Gabrien Well-Known Member Nov 24, 2009 5,148 0 36 #8 Gabrien, Sep 13, 2012 Interesting. And available in the Aus store at least, currently. Thanks to Pocket Tactics naming this as "Game of the Month" (April 2016), I really have no idea this one exists. So my question is: do I need to buy the IAP? JindoFox Well-Known Member Dec 21, 2008 526 11 18 #11 JindoFox, May 4, 2016 Wow that's an old one. It's been in and out of the store for years. It was free before. I suspect the in app purchases are there just in case you wanted to cheat/speed things up, or support the developer. You could always ask the developer directly. It's not like it will cost you anything to try it out! Anyway, I played this one when it came out many years ago, but I prefer much, much more Stellar Horizon, a new Elite clone that appeared in the App Store a few months ago. It's being updated constantly with improvements and the dev is really active in these forums. If you're into the original Elite-kind of games, then you should check that one too. For $3 it's a steal, and fully premium. JindoFox Well-Known Member Dec 21, 2008 526 11 18 #13 JindoFox, May 8, 2016 Hey, cool, I didn't know that was a thing. I will try it out and see how it compares to Stellar Wanderer and Star Rogue, both of which I really like. currymutton Well-Known Member Oct 16, 2008 4,430 1 0 #14 currymutton, May 9, 2016 If the developer did not deliberately avoid my question on MFi controller support, I would have already bought Stellar Horizon...the game is still very much on my watch list ever since...and I am busy with many other things including some from my back log. JindoFox Well-Known Member Dec 21, 2008 526 11 18 #16 JindoFox, Nov 5, 2021 It's not there to purchase, but if you already have/had it, it's still there to download. The people who own the rights are sometimes a little strict about Elite clones. I'm not sure if that's the reason for it not being listed, though. Do you like playing it with touch controls? I wasn't an old-school Elite player so the glyphs are unfamiliar to me, so I find it a little hard to get into. I prefer Rogue Star for that reason. Truncana likes this. Truncana Well-Known Member Mar 18, 2013 623 91 28 #17 Truncana, Nov 5, 2021 Rogue Star is also awesome! The reason why they pulled it t is for some misunderstanding about iap, as the developer wrote to me… Hope he can fix that. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
