I think that this proves that crex is very bias, and hes the creator of this poll. I mean he code the first five of the ten, and one was Aralon, which he's been supporting this whole time. If you think Aralon is GOTY, why even make a poll? So you can prove that TA loves Aralon and all other games fall short? It's not fair if you ask me. You should do GOTY in categories, like best FPS, RPG, Casual Game, Racer, etc. instead of making a bias thread. It's obvious you love Aralon, so why would you try to make all the other apps look bad? This poll is pointless, and isn't accurate to what every TA thinks about GOTY... just the Aralon Fanboys vote, and a few others who stumble across this thread.

It's more of a favorite type of game poll right now. The best of several genres are competing, and obviously people are enamored with more recent games, but I don't think anyone can argue that all the games nominated aren't good. They showcase some of the most fun to be had on an idevice

Or we could just get the mods to lock everyone's posting abilities, thread viewing abilities, and all the other stuff until they voted on this poll... ;)

In his defense it did get stickied.

But I agree it would be better to have categories. And more than 151 people voting.

Lol we'd lose half the casual members who come on here just to lurk. Wait...that's a good thing!

It seems you're partially responsible for the votes for Aralon in this poll, since you posted the link to it in the Aralon thread. :p

I think a showdown between the top 4 or 5 of this poll is in order, to let people recast their votes. Apparently I "wasted" my vote on a "forgotten" 8 month app like SFIV.

I believe GOTY should be divided on genre but that's just me.These are all some impressive games and every one deserves it as much as the other. My vote goes to aralon only because it is a massive world granted not as polish but the concept and the open world part make GOTY for me but I also love all the other games

According to this poll, games get better as time goes on.
The most recent games racked up the most votes in comparison to older ones in nearly perfect order from newest to oldest.

My vote went to Aralon, but that's cause I'm biased as hell. I love rpgs, and Aralon is a great one.

Dividing it up is an alternative, not a replacement. There should still be a Game of the Year based on the entirety of... everything.

Or else you can break each game up into genres, and within those genres, you can break them into graphics, audio, gameplay, content, creativity, etc, and break those categories even further down into saturation, audio range, etc, and it just becomes ridiculous.

Oh man, the choices in this poll are extremely disappointing... So many good apps came out this year and so many forgotten. =/

Actually, for all the people out there who thought I voted for Aralon, I actually DID NOT. Believe it or not, I voted for Plants vs Zombies. I just loved the game so much. So no, this poll is not biased, because as you can see, PvZ isn't exactly getting the most votes.

I voted Aralon, but that's because it was the most breathtaking of all of the games that I have bought from that list. I haven't bought RR2 yet, so that's already out the question for me. And no, I haven't completed Aralon to see all the bugs that everyone's been voicing about, but the poll is very open-ended with no real clear definition on the voting rules.
I took it to mean the one with the most potential and impressiveness. Does that mean my priorities are wrong? Who's to say? And should we qualify the voters to only include those who have (a) bought all the games on the list and (b) have completed them all to have fully experienced them all, and not just the first few levels? Do we rank them on different factors like Gameplay, Graphics, longevity, Updates, Developer communication, etc etc etc.
All in all, it's pretty pointless, abit of fun, and no one should take this too seriously. If you do, then just chill, crack open a beer, and get back to playing the game that you voted for and love. You can't force your ideas on others, so save the headache and enjoy your games.

    Merry Christmass y'all!

Looks like the battle is between only 3 games: Real Racing 2, Infinity Blade, and Aralon. Who will be Victorious!

  18. How about we have a separate run-off vote between the top 3?
