That was totally how I felt about it. I was going to buy it a month or so ago because it was making waves, but gameplay videos turned me off. I finally decided to buy it on Christmas day since it was making so many lists, and man, it has really grown on me. It's hard to explain why, because it looks like the gameplay videos when you play, but there's that special X factor in there that makes it something I keep wanting to go back to. It's become a fast favorite. xjaff - I do this terrible thing where I delete everyone from my Game Center friend list and then re-add them because I decide every 6-12 months that I just want people I know in person, then I decide that's stupid because all my in person friends are awful at video games. So, I probably deleted you. I'd send you a new friend request, but I can't since I have the Game Center bug on my iPhone and haven't been able to log in for a few months. It does work on the Apple TV, so I can still do stuff there (but you can't send friend requests from there). Speaking of the Game Center bug, I wasn't able to try out Implosion yet, because it won't start without Game Center. I tried Lara Croft GO, but was not a fan. I think I have a lot of bad associations with Lara Croft/Tomb Raider that ruined the experience - maybe if it had been an original character instead I would have liked it. Horizon Chase is fantastic! Definitely worthy of however well it does in our poll, though it doesn't hit my personal tastes quite as much as Downwell, which was my pick. Still love Alto's Adventure, which is a lot of fun on Apple TV. Haven't played the other three. Maybe Dust eventually, but the other two aren't my style at all.
Downwell, by a mile. Indie masterpiece even compared to other gaming systems out there. Just pretty perfect, totally unique and soooo entertaining.
Own all on the list except Dust. They are all great games and each spent a lot of time on my device but Alto was my go to game for months. I had to vote based on what I couldn't put down over the long run.
65 votes less than last year, I would say this Game of the Week and Year thread is dead ouch, but thanks anyway Undeadcow for the hard work and Happy New Year.
Honestly I think part of it has to do with the thread being moved to the top of this particular forum instead of its old location in the general discussion area. I didn't even know where they moved the weekly and yearly polls to. Obviously I found them but I could see where maybe you'd think they just aren't around anymore
Regardless of lower participation, congratulations to Downwell, the Forum Game of the Year for 2015! And I think congratulations are also in order for Horizon Chase, the very close Runner Up! I am incredibly satisfied with our top two picks.
I love GoTW and GoTY. Fun! Thanks to all nominators, voters, and all the TA crew that put the thread and announcements together week in and week out. Great job! There should be a Game Of The Decade! 2018? Go! Ps. Line up all the previous GoTY winners and let's vote!
David Bowie died, Undeadcow no sign of him, our heroes are dying, sad to know this thread is dead, what is wrong with the human kind sigh.......................
Dunno what's wrong he said he was moving out of a house last month so maybe he is stuck in the basement and can't level up Ha ha.
