I chose Monkeyrama! I love Downwell (doesn't everyone?), but, at the end of the day, I've spent more time with the monkey and less time in the well. Plus, we have a really enthusiastic developer who is active here on these forums. Kudos Tuomas, and best of luck, you're up against a juggernaut, but ahead on this poll at the time of this post
Shit! "Developers, publishing partners, or affiliates cannot vote for their own games." I was too excited and voted for my game before reading. :S Can I undo it?
There's no way to undo a vote but when determining a winner it'll have to be overlooked; usually new accounts with no posts or other suspect votes are ignored. A "sleeper" is a game that ends up being better than expected or than first apperances suggest.
Alright! Thanks for not insta-banning me for voting myself. I wish I knew why people expect, or why the first appearance of the game suggests that the game wouldn't be as good as they find it after playing. Is it the candyish visual style?
I think it was most likely just because it is such a good, quality game and yet there was no release hype and its your first release.whereas Downwell has been mega-hyped (and rightfully so as its a great game). No harm-no foul on voting yourself though, you just honestly didn't know. Some devs, in the past have used sneaky tactics to give themselves an extra edge. Not the case here
I voted for Downwell because it is fantastic but I believe I have spent much more time playing and enjoying Monkeyrama. Both games are very deserving of recognition.
Had to give it to Downwell. It's great. I just made it to the boss a couple nights ago, but I'm still working on unlocking Hard Mode... Anyway... it's gotten HOURS & HOURS of gameplay outta me. =oD
Downwell for me too. Everything syntheticvoid said, except getting to the boss. =P Thread reminders are done - better late than never, right? =)
Downwell! I just can't stop playing it. Over and over. And I just want to play again. You'd think dying hundreds of times and not beating it would be discouraging but nope. I keep at it and I actually want to! For this reason the vote had to be given to Downwell. I really can't wait to see the next game the development team come up with. Billy
Thanks! I completely forgot about it. I had planned to do them after voting a few days back and then it slipped my mind... =/
No problem! I was going to do it sooner but got busy with other things. It's fun to do. I discovered 'Ten Second Space Missions', which is a surprisingly good Galaga-like. Perfect for short burst game sessions.
Yes! That's exactly one of the main reasons why I participate in this weekly event, so I can discover games I might have missed or overlooked.
