Here is a little background on how the game got started. I attended an iPhone developer conference called 360iDev back in May. They had an overnight "Game Jam" sponsored by touchArcade. The idea was to stay up all night and create a game. The theme you were supposed to base your game on was "Tiny". We came up with the idea for a match three game where you used body parts instead of blocks called Tiny Grave. We didn't get a working game that night, but I kept working on it evolving the game idea and story. I ended up creating the kind of puzzle game that I wanted to play. Something a little creepy and fun with fast paced puzzle matching. I hope you give the game a chance and I welcome your feedback. Thanks! Here is the Game Jam thread on the forums. http://forums.toucharcade.com/forumdisplay.php?f=25 SkyMuffin Well-Known Member May 24, 2010 2,377 0 36 college student, ENG/WGS major Lexington, KY http://fromonesurvivortoanother.tumblr.com #8 SkyMuffin, Oct 10, 2010 Last edited: Oct 10, 2010 So far it is really fun and smooth, but there are a few kinks that could be ironed out: 1) faster scroll for the intro text, definitely. or give the user the option to scroll manually like I have seen with similar apps. also, double tap to skip, since people will inevitably try to scroll such things. 2) instead of dropping new pieces in, let the pieces "grow in" to the empty spots. it will be much creepier and less distracting. 3) definitely need an option to tap and drag instead of tapping twice. 4) on the help screen, the arrow in the bottom right is barely visible on the doctor's shoes. 5) help screen does not tell you how you gain "helpful items", only what they do. 6) weird issue with my 4th gen ipod touch-- if I have my ringer volume muted, then sound effects don't work in the game, while music does. if I have even one level of ringer, however, i can change the sound effect volume in game normally along with the music. great work so far. i'm really enjoying it lord-sam Well-Known Member Feb 25, 2009 2,482 0 0 United Kingdom #9 lord-sam, Oct 10, 2010 Hey, I remember seeing pics of this in development. It's come a long way, congrats! uberarcade Well-Known Member Sep 25, 2009 140 0 0 Software Developer Nashville #10 uberarcade, Oct 10, 2010 This batch of promo codes is now gone. I have gotten some good feedback so far. Thanks guys! To answer a few of the questions you can swipe across both pieces to move them or tap each one. Swiping will allow you go faster and helps out in the timed levels. Smaller swipes are more accurate. Earning extra items: Free Moves are earned every 10K points. If you match with 4 or more of one type of block - 4 skulls it counts towards earning Acid If you match with more than one type of block - say 3 skulls and 3 hearts in one move it counts towards earning Alchemist Fire Also in all of the story screens you can tap to skip the dialog. uberarcade Well-Known Member Sep 25, 2009 140 0 0 Software Developer Nashville #11 uberarcade, Oct 11, 2010 Here is a game play video of Endless Mode. This mode keeps on going until you are out of moves and special items. After awhile different body parts are introduced and it gets more difficult. Enjoy! The issue isn't that you can't skip. It's that it scrolls incredibly slowly, but I want to read it. So I try to tap to scroll, but since it isnt implemented it just skips. uberarcade Well-Known Member Sep 25, 2009 140 0 0 Software Developer Nashville #14 uberarcade, Oct 11, 2010 Ah, I get what you are saying about the text scrolling. You think it would be better if all the text was on screen at the start and it didn't move instead of scrolling up? I am also looking into making the swiping more forgiving. Thanks for all of the input, btw. uberarcade Well-Known Member Sep 25, 2009 140 0 0 Software Developer Nashville #15 uberarcade, Oct 13, 2010 I have had a few people report an issue where the game will occasionaly crash running Tiny Grave on iphone 4. Usually after completing a level in story mode. I am working on the issue and should have a fix submitted soon. There haven't been any issues reproted running on older ipod touches, iphones, or ipad. It is specific to iphone 4. I hope everyone is enjoying the game. If you encounter any issues feel free to send me a pm or contact us on our website. The ghoulish characters with limited movements other than their chins moving up and down are reminiscent of the old Marvel Comics animated series of the 60's. The tongue-planted-firmly-in-cheek performances by the voice actors alone will bring a smile to anyone's face. The smooth animations coupled with the commentary whispered in the background while dispersing well-timed power ups give this game an eerie charm all its own. uberarcade Well-Known Member Sep 25, 2009 140 0 0 Software Developer Nashville #17 uberarcade, Oct 15, 2010 Anybody beat the Story mode yet? The timed levels can be a challenge. Especially the levels where you have to collect the special monster parts before the time ends, but it can definitely be beat. To match fast on the timed ones you need to get the swipe move down. Touch the first block and slide your finger slightly over the adjacent block you want to swap with. Touching in between blocks or swiping across the whole screen won't work. uberarcade Well-Known Member Sep 25, 2009 140 0 0 Software Developer Nashville #18 uberarcade, Oct 18, 2010 I have fixed the iphone 4 issues and will be submitting the update to the app store shortly.
