This is good epic fun! Sure it is essentially Tilt to Live on a bigger screen, this isn't just a rescaling of the graphics as you definitely have more room to mess around! I also love how your final combo count shows up right on your ship so there is no need to take your eyes off your ship to know if that last combo has finally ended, and if so how big did you get it before it finally petered out. Most of all I love the reimagining of the Gauntlet Mode! It now feels so much more open with the player free to choose their path to the orbs as opposed to having to work your way down narrow little moving corridors. I think the new Gauntlet Mode could best be described as a Pacifistic Code Red with the constantly spawning dots and formations oblivious to your ship EXCEPT for the nasty weapons being aimed right at you (and at times coming at you full speed from multiple angles at once!).
That trailer is hardly played with Tilt controls too much precision and speed. The idea of the game is nice and if the price is ok for me this will be enough to push me buy it. But because of the gameplay for me not adapted to Tilt controls I'll probably won't play it much as I never played much the iphone version (I got for free thanks for that gift). You should really think to make a sort of Swipe to Live and if this seems to you impossible you should look at Spirit HD.
Unless I'm missing something obvious...the ordering of the text and gameplay videos is a little counter intuitive to me. Like wouldn't it make more sense to say, "We've re-worked the Gauntlet Mode..." and THEN show the video of the new Gauntlet Mode? I have no idea what is involved in editing a trailer so please ignore this whine if far too late, but if it isn't too difficult to switch up the order of the text and video clips I think it would make more sense.
fyi: for me Tilt to Live HD crashed on 4.2 b2 every time before the menu should appear, it works fine with 4.2 b3 (no crashes so far) hope it helps greetings MJFox
