OK New England, that's very considerate. I tell you what if it is approved within two more days I'll get you a promo version to review. If it's not through by Friday, I'll sort an AdHoc version for you, so you can play it at the weekend. How's that?
As long as there is a consistent ramp to the difficulty I think it will be good. But as I mentioned in PM, either new level packs via DLC or app updates, and/or the addition of an "endless" randomized mode for a constant supply of new puzzles is never a bad thing, especially when you've obviously gone to a lot of trouble to design a very good-looking and polished game. The more people you can keep playing the better. Like I said, this does look very promising and a graphical showpiece that's obviously creating some buzz and I hope it catches on. I'd wager this could be a front pager here when it's released.
Well I hope TouchArcade feature it - you really need to play it to appreciate it, so I will be giving out some promos when TileStorm is approved to people that would like to review TileStorm. With regard to the consistent ramp I have actually avoided making the game consistently more difficult because otherwise children may not be able to play in all the areas. It is also nice after some intense thinking to have a slightly easier level or two - after all it is an adventure as well as a puzzle game, so you can think of the easier levels like casting a spell to make food in Moria; it's just something you do. But generally the further you go the more difficult the levels you encounter are. I am rather concerned that some people may not be able to complete it at all, but I will offer help on my website to people that are struggling. I also hope that if people are 'stuck' that they can ask a friend or an adult in the case of children and this will unlock loads more levels for them to play. There are only three sticking points in the game - after 25, to unlock up to 50; 50-75, and 75-100. I will certainly consider extra levels and downloadable content if TileStorm proves popular. I would also like to add some more features that didn't make the cut this time around. So if TileStorm does well, expect revs/and or TileStorm2 Thanks again for your comments, Andrew
I absolutely love puzzle adventure games and this one looks like the best one yet! I can't wait to play it! Congratulations on a winner
It's got the visual chutzpah. All that remains is for it to be played and hopefully appreciated enough to feature. Lord knows I've seen far worse games featured on the front page. I don't mind if some levels are easier than others as long as the overall difficulty generally increases. Need to keep things challenging. And kids are often more clever than we give them credit for. I'm sure some of them could run circles around us geezers. Well then let's hope it does. More content is never a bad thing, and it lets you keep things fresh -- and more importantly, keeps the threads going on the forums and the app showing updates in the App Store.
I was lucky enough to play it last night for a little while and I can honestly say it's great fun - very addictive puzzle game that I'll be buying as soon as it hits the app store.
Thanks for your comments Lee. I am glad you like TileStorm, a few others that have had the opportunity to play it pre-release have said much the same thing. In my tests so far TileStorm seems to be being well received.
