Well yes but that's all assuming that every single on of your friends already has the game, and has played it to the point where they find it slightly dull.
I agree, to get the best possible multiplayer experience, play with friends, but if you can't public games are an okay substitute. You're still playing the same game.

edit: also everyone's friends just play MW2 all day? Daymn

While I consider myself moderately hardcore, get excited over Crysis 2 and Portal 2 and all that, I won't trouble myself getting every achievement in a game, or get every decent looking game that comes out. I've got limits. Some of my friends don't. Every time an interesting game comes out, they'll get it and play it... and play it... and play it... way past the point where they've got their money's worth. I'm sure most gamers have at least a couple friends like that. And yeah, public games are fun, but I still like bragging to my friends about a particularly satisfying kill... which is probably why we play MW2. There's tons of ways to do that. Key to a multiplayer game is variety. Keeps things somewhat fresh. Even if some of the maps downright suck.

Every one of my friends play MW2, despite BFBC2 being so much better. I don't understand why MW2 is preferred!
Anyways, this fall could arguably be some of the best months in video game history. Halo Reach, CoD Black Ops, and Fallout: New Vega s are being released, along with Kinect. Excited

Im going to try it on a friends xbox and hope that works if not, well Ill probably ship it off to Microsoft get new hardrive and try and sell it on ebay and buy a slim

I wouldn't say that, at least in IMO, but yeah, they could've done a much better job. They need to reduce the bottlenecks points and give maps like Skidrow more flow. Another thing would be have some maps feature destructible environments, and others not two. Or heck, have it as an option that randomly gets toggled.

I just hated all the maps like I said, save for like 3. But then again I was mega disappointed with that game as a whole. BFBC2 > MW2.

Speaking of games that suck: I just borrowed RDR from my bro in law and I have to say... it is so far an extreme drag on my soul. I hate the RAGE engine it feels like I am controlling a rebelling bull going after a female. Then again I didn't like GTA IV either so yeah. I love Westerns and I so badly want to get into it, but I just can't :(

If you didn't like GTA IV, then you shouldn't have gotten RDR. I can see where you're coming from, but I say give it a while. Once you start traveling past the McFarlane's ranch, it gets better.

Well I wasn't about to spend any money on it. My bro in law went to military school so I raided his game collection and thought I would give it a try, just to say I tried it. I am going to attempt to play some more today and hopefully get passed McFarlane's Ranch and see how I like it from there. But I predict that I will come to the same verdict I did before. Maybe not who knows. Already went to f*ckin jail for accidentally hopping on a horse that wasn't mine. F*ck you ranch.

It was the hunting that sealed the RDR deal for me. Go for a ride and shoot some innocent animals, I found it a great change of pace and probably one of the better hunting experiences I've had inside a game.

Psh. Shoot a stained glass window. I had a $1 bounty, $1, and the Mexican army relentlessly hunted me down. Didn't know they were so religious.

    Big question guys...

    Red Dead Redemption or Borderlands?

I really liked Oblivion, and that style of game play but I also enjoyed GTA4 well enough...

So which one should I choose in terms of price/gameplay/fun factor/replayability?

RDR already has a big lead with that 15 player multiplayer match, but I love games like Bioshock and Oblivion so multiplayer isn't the deciding factor.

Borderlands is nothing like Oblivion, it's seriously dull playing it on your own, but then RDR's multiplayer kinda sucks so really you should be looking at it the other way around. RDR for single player, Borderlands for co-op.

I vote RDR. Borderlands gets repetitive sooner.

Well I thoroughly enjoyed Borderlands to death. You will get several hours out of that game I can assure you. Plus multiple characters, and it has online Co-Op which is cool. I never even downloaded the DLC and I easily spent 40 hours trying to get everything and get the best weapons I can. The DLC raises the lvl cap, more weaps and all kinds of goodness.

As of right now I am not enjoying RDR much, so I can't recommend it, but if you like GTA IV you might lol.

I will say that it does get a little repetitive, but if you enjoy the repetition it's awesome. It's like a first-person shooter meets diablo 2.

If you don't have friends that'll play Borderlands with you (and I mean a serious commitment), it's no fun.

Speaking of Borerlands... I think Rage will be what Borderlands should have been :D

o_O tough one, but if you dont have friends who will play with you with Borderlands then probably Red Dead Redemption. Though if ypu can get Borderlands for like 30 bucks then definatly do it, because theres all sorts of deals depending on where you are.
Then again, you can just play online, the main problem I have with Borderlands are the numerous annoying 12 year olds who have it and wont shut up, but youll find a good group eventually.
I played Red Dead mainly for the campaign but even after i beat it, I still had tons of fun. Sooo my vote ges to Red Dead Redemption, unlesss you can get Borderlands for anything under the normal price.

@Booch138 Once you get past the ranch the game starts to pick up, I remeber it being a bit slow in the begining, Try some Hunting or Bounty Hunting is always fun, esepcially when you get your lasso

By the way Amazon has RDR for $45 so I'd get that for sure :)
