The Creeps might have twitter/facebook support soon.... I had read a forum somewhere recently...(not on toucharcade though)...that The Creep's developer posted on and he said they are adding twitter and facebook support thru agon SOON. Exciting!! I think that'll def. make it the best TD game ever with Field Runners 2nd.
Fieldrunners is really overrated in my opinion after having chronicled so many TDs. It's just a bit plain and doesn't do anything new.
This is a great thread Camzy and you're to be applauded for taking the time to compile this information for the rest of us. Couple of suggestions that may help prospective customers lean to a specific title: - Add a column for notes on the amount of updates/level of developer interaction with the community? - Add a column for the original release date, so we can see which titles are the oldest - At risk of changing the whole setup, could you create a google doc site or something and have screenshots/hyperlinks etc? Anyway, just wanted to say nice work and keep up with the great updates!
That's because it probably is the oldest TD for the idevice. Imho deserves the respect and credit. Yes it's not as evolutionary as the new and better TDs but compared to the majority TD ripoffs, Fieldrunners can still hold its own. Like your chart says, Fieldrunners has its field pretty much polished . Here's hoping SubAtomic Studios brewing a Fieldrunners sequel. Thanks for the hard work, by the way. Kudos!!!

Yeh well that's not going to make much difference to a prospective buyer. If they see Fieldrunners next to Star Defense, ElementalMonster TD, Defender Chronicles or geoDefense, it's going to look bad. The devs could still have added more than the 3 maps on offer and maybe expand the weapons and upgrade system. At the moment, it's really plain.
I want to get Defender Chronicles, but it doesn't really look that good from screenshots. Can someone explain to me how it is good? And the same about Sentinel 2 (or if Sentinel 1 is better) - can you knock me off the fence please!
Defender Chronicles is currently selling very cheap so its really not much to lose. But you shouldn't worry about that, because its a VERY deep and strategic game that is unique and entertaining. The devs are also rather active in updating, there's a new mage they're going to add. Look it up in the Defender Chronicles thread. Sentinel 2 is in my opinion much better than 1. There are more towers, open feint integration, sharper more colourful graphics, and a whole host of unique features. I've rated those two games highest for a reason. If you like TD games, these two should definitely be in your collection. O and I'm going to give a shoutout to ElementalMonster TD which I'm currently playing. It's a superb game with more tower choices than any other and lots of support abilities that make choosing a good deck challenging. As with Defender Chronicles, the worst thing you can do is judge the game by the screenshots. In action, both these games are as good as they get.
Thanks, but 1 more question (don't base it all on price, but include it a bit ) Defender Chronicles or Sentinel 2. Currently Star Defense is probably my favourite TD game if that's anything to base it on.
I agree with camzy, I thought the same thing, but when it was only a buck, I got it and its in my top 5 TDs including Def. Chron., The Creeps!, Geo Defense, and some other ones. (Should I get star defense?)
Ah well it comes down to whether you want to play a game thats similar to Star Defense or something different. If you can't get enough of Star Defense and want something like it get Sentinel 2. If you've played Star Defense to death and are looking for something new, get Defender Chronicles.
The only other TD game I have is GeoDefense, and I like that too. I've only completed Star Defense once and like it a lot. I like the monsters, graphics, awards and the towers. The level design is cool as well.
Caved in and bought Defender Chronicles and Bloons. I have Rolando, GeoDefense plus a few others to complete first, so yeah.

Thanks for your work Camzy. TD is my favorite genre and I find something to like about almost all of them so far. What about adding Moon Defense? I'm sort of liking it.
I've kind of put the TD guide on hiatus now that's it's sort of finished and I'm focusing on the BoiK threads. But, I still have a few TDs I intend to add. Maybe when I get some time.
i have: field runners GD swarm defender chronicles critter defense star defense sentinal 2 and tower madness TDs are my second favorite type of game if you know of any better ones let me know and ill go get them
If you fail to include free TDs, then your guide is merely the penultimate TD guide. If you truly want the ultimate guide, include ALL Tower Defense. As an aside, I can't figure out why everyone loves Sentinel 2 so much. It has great graphics, but I find that it lacks the addictive quality that make TD games so much fun. ________ V8 Engine
