Nice contest, How about a room displaying the Aftermath of an Apocalyptic war, half of the room is destroyed and you can clearly view the outside world, which is destroyed. A big rumble (using the iPhone's vibration or just have the screen shake) and in the distance you can see a Mushroom cloud in the distance. You are attacked by a horde of infected people, who are affected from the apocolypics
Can we enter more than once? let's see: a room with collapsing walls, means, you have time to clear it, and there are 2 types of monsters, small ones and big ones, small ones retreat the walls a little bit but the bigs ones do nothing, so you need to dispose of them real fast so you can take care of the rest and survive. another room could be a normal room (although I love the collapsing walls idea), but the enemies this time are ones that project images of them, so you see 10/12 of them but only one of those is real, maybe sometimes it blinks to let you know, maybe it is completely random, and you could also make it attack you if you attack the wrong one of the images.
I think the game is quite repetitive with the same action. It will be good to have some maze where the character can obtain power-ups and yet fight some monsters when he goes to a wrong turn.
How about an alien laboratory. The room could be filled with giant test tubes that were being observed by the scientists. The enemies could be aliens, of course. And, errant shots that hit the test tubes could release additional aliens onto the map.
Another idea... What about a room where your dual stick controls are swapped, an upside down room. Could add something different to the gameplay. The enemies really could be any of your standard enemies.
This is like Smash TV right? Try a snake room where snakes come out from the wall panels while you are being attacked by natives! That would rock! You also need some boss battles! At the end of the room, a giant robotic snake comes out and you have to shoot of his armor to kill him! He can shoot out of his eyes and lets out soldiers from his mouth!
Another idea! The Cafeteria- a bonus room! The enemies can't hurt you, but you only get 1 minute in the room or you will die! The enemies can be food related.
Another one: 1 room, 2 dimensions. Half the room white the other black or smt. There are 2 players too, controlled at the same time. Enemies are also in both sides. You need to kill both sides at the same time for it to work and the enemies to be killed.
The Electricity Room - You have to fight all sorts of soldiers, but the floor panels electrocute in patterns so you have to be careful where you are.
Zombie room: enemies die but rise again until defeate in a specific way (specific item coughheadshotcough)
here s an idea...the room is a football stadium...you start in one endzone and zombies with pads and maybe helmets attack from the top (maybe you have to kill them with a chainsaw or a short range weapon?) around the field are stands and the each zombie you kill puts a point on the scoreboard.....just an idea
How about a room with holes with enemies' head throwing grenades from the windows. The enemies pop in and out and throw the grenades so it is hard to avoid those grenades. You have to blast the walls and kill the enemies instead. Another suggestion: To have robots in a sushi roller chain rotating in a circular manner. The robots hurls objects at you. You have to destroy the objects as well as the robots to get out alive.
How about a room like in the Saw movies. You start shackled to one wall (okay thats about where the similarity ends) there is a key on the otherside of the room. You need to reach the key to get out. There are certain targets you need to shoot to make the shackle/chain get longer. There are certain floor tiles that when get stepped on make the chain go shorter. You need to shoot enemies to keep them off the floor tiles so you can reach the wall. You may have certain floor tiles that will also length the chain as goals as you progress.
How about a room with a few narrow chutes one can use to escape the hordes. Then have enemies that when killed cause your character to get slightly larger. This would make them a larger target and make it harder to avoid the enemies. After several size bumps you would be unable to use the narrow chokepoint/escape chutes and be forced to run around them. Spinning off of other popular games might be humorous as well. A slight reference to Plants versus Zombies where you have both vegetation and zombie enemies. Perhaps even make it so the two of them will sometimes ignore you and attack one another. The background scenery could then be a nice lush garden with lots of primary colors.
A room called Mirror, Mirror or The Reflector Basically the room will have variously angled flat surfaces and reflecting obstacles. It would be populated with robots that either fire energy beams or a projectile that can reflect off of the sides of the room and any of the obstacles. You'll either need to clear the room of enemies or reach a specific location in the room to shut down the enemies. Having the obstacles and reflective surfaces ensures the player won't be able to snipe the robots from long range...they'll have to get in reasonably close to achieve line of sight.
Loving all the ideas so far... As its my first game don't expect it to be awesome but I do think its fun. With some of these new rooms in the update hopefully it will give it more longevity. Thanks again and keep them coming... Results will be posted on Friday!
