-- COMPETITION CLOSED -- This competition is now closed. Over the next couple of days the team and I will be deliberating between the entries to decide who has won the grand prize, so for those of you who have entered, keep checking back onto this thread to see if you have won!! On a more sentimental note, everyone at Tagplay has really enjoyed seeing the wacky and wild ride designs posted here, and whilst there can only be one winner of the grand prize, we have decided that EVERYONE who has entered will receive a Funpark Friends t-shirt - just for being awesome! So once we have decided the winner of the grand prize and made an announcement on this thread, I will be sending PM's around to get everyone's sizes for their shirts . In the interim, please do like our facebook @ www.facebook.com/tagplay, and please do give us some Funpark Friends feedback on the Touch Arcade post @http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=101266 For those of you who did not enter this competition, Funpark Friends is set for global release on the 1st of October and we may very well be running more competitions for even more prizes on our Facebook page and Touch Arcade forums so it may very well be good to stay in the know !
Yahooo!nice move!even if i dont win the grand prize i will be happy and honored to received the awesome funpark tshirt!
We just did the judging and boy was that tough! Some great entries. I think Simon is going to announce the winner in the next couple of days so stay tuned....
COMPETITION RESULTS!! First of all, everyone at the studio, across all the different projects we have on the go at the moment, loved the rides that were entered here. We have had considerable dynamic success from this competition and I think everyone in the studio is now fully aware of just how important getting involved with the gaming community on websites like Touch Arcade is - through competitions or otherwise. Certainly, is has been my pleasure to pitch, run and see this competition through . But you guys don't care about all that . You care about who has won! SO, without further adieu, the winner of the Tagplay 'Funpark Friends' Touch Arcade Competition IS..... HyuJun84 ! Congratulations HyuJun84, we were particularly impressed with your thinking outside of the box. One of the most difficult aspects of video game design is in taking a standard concept and bringing it 'out of the box' so that users are presented with something new and refreshing, but in a context that is friendly, trustworthy and inviting. You were certainly able to do that with your design and we are all looking forward to seeing its development (after weeks of coding and GUI, I know our artists are looking forward to making a cool ride again! Especially a cool ALIEN ride !) We will be messaging you in the next day or two to discuss with you the process of taking your ride design and getting it into the game, as well as getting you your shiny $100 iTunes moneys . Additionally, in the main Funpark Friends thread we will be showcasing the building of HyuJun's ride into Funpark Friend with a blog, so everyone, keep your eyes peeled for that! For now here are some preliminary sketches based on HyuJun's design by the lead artist on Funpark Friends: Honourable Mentions - Bem69 - we loved the amount of work you put into your design and were particularly impressed with the amount of ideas you had come up with. Mantisbrian - we really liked the idea of either a worm ride going in and out of the ground or a rollercoaster going in an out of wormholes - another out of the box idea! - FOR EVERYONE WHO ENTERED - As promised, everyone who entered will be getting a t-shirt! So I will also be sending messages out to get everyone's sizes and addresses! Finally, here is a cheeky picture of the panel (minus myself) picking our way through the entries in our design room. Although a humble looking bunch, these are some seriously creative minds and have been responsible for designing games like the original Grand Theft Auto titles amongst many many others.
I am speechless lol Your concept art of my ride is mindblowing, you captured exactly what I was aiming for. Wasn't really sure if my drawing skills (or lack of lol) could really represent what I was trying to accomplish with my ride but your concept art is spot on. Thank You So Much
