The nomination period will last one week (through December 31, 2014)... a poll to occur for one week (from January 1 through January 8).
OK so my list is more iOS-centric and miss some biggies: Air Supply: SOS Docking Sequence Galaxy Trucker / Pocket Out There Eliss Infinity 80 Days FTL VVVVVV Bioshock Nightmare Cooperative
Last day for nominations, please make any remaining nominations in the next 12 hours! Any nominations made before the poll is listed will be counted. Voting on finalists begins tomorrow.
My choice: Inferno 2 by Radiangames Everything i want in a game: colorful explosions galore, fast action, sublime level design, the feeling of accomplishment after finishing a level. And even the soundtrack is awesome. Follow ups: Super Crossfighter Man at Arms TD Honorable mentions go to: Blades of Brim (still in soft launch) Fotonika Proun + Metal Slug Defense
To make the final 10 for voting a game must receive at least 8 nominations (based on nominations so far). So far the game to receive the most nominations has 24, the other highest nominination counts are 20, 19, 18, 14, 11, 10, 9... Subject to change.
Does anyone have any feedback on this process below? Up for discussion before nominations end. There are ten games that have between 6-8 nominations so eligibility on those will be close Tie Breaker: If there is a tie for placement and not all games can make the poll then every game at that level will be omitted from the poll (for example, if 3 games have enough nominations for 9th place then there will be no 9th or 10th game in the poll). In the case of a middle range tie it's likely no candidates at that level will make the poll. If there's a tie for say 3rd place with room for all games with same nomination count then those games will make voting in order of nomination count or if a tie alphabetically.
My Game of the Year nominations, in no particular order: Mr. Particle-Man Air Supply: SOS 80 Days Rules! Monument Valley Desert Golfing Hoplite Traps 'n Gemstones Goblin Sword Super Splatform
So I got a new iDevice and thought this thread would be the perfect place to find shiny new games that I couldn't play before (which it is, thanks all!) but I had to log in to add a nomination for Nozoku Rush. To me, it's almost the perfect action puzzler. I know it's not for everyone, but I'm surprised that it didn't make anyone's top 10 list this year (I guess that that also shows that iOS gaming certainly isn't dead yet - I see lots of great looking non-freemium games in everyone's lists and I'm looking forward to checking them out). So, here are my nominations: Bean Dreams Crossy Road dEXTRIS Leo's Fortune Nozoku Rush Super Splatform Toast Time Trip Trap (Note for people on old devices: Trip Trap, Super Splatform, Nozoku Rush and Dextris worked perfectly fine on my iPad 1)

Touch Arcade forums' Game of the Year 2014 Voting The Touch Arcade forums' Game of the Year 2014 poll is now live; participants are encouraged to discuss their choice. Developers are asked not to vote for their own game or recruit votes outside of Touch Arcade. Voting ends in 7 days (through January 7).
Nice work Undeadcow. Well run and organized. Thread title has been renamed to reflect the poll being open.
Thank you, Red1. I appreciate your work updating the thread title and other behind the scene moderator support across the board but I think you've specifically attended to GOTY poll over the years.
I'm leaning towards Battleheart Legacy (which I recall having more long term playable than Wayward Souls despite a steep end game difficulty curve) but plan to re-download some of the contenders and have fun playing them a bit over the next week or so before deciding. Monument Valley, Leo's Fortune, Xcom (but unsure if a expansion update deserves to win), or still Wayward Souls... all solid contenders.
All i can say is that the 10 that made it to the final poll are absolute must-haves and that my faith in the TA community's taste is further strengthened. Those titles are easily among the best of the best that our chosen gaming platform can offer. Woohoo! To be honest i would easily tap that MHFU radio button, but like my last year's pick i want it to be from an indie dev, and as much as possible an iOS original instead of a port. Im still juggling through picks, but right now my top ones are BHLegacy, Wayward Souls, and Monument Valley. Til i hit that one radio button! Cheers TA!
Yep same here. Tough one for me as I love the air supply game but voted for Leo's fortune as I played that the most
