nominations in this order Blot - I'm not going to gush over how I think it's the best endless runner available on iOS currently because you can see it in it's thread. If JJ was GOTY 2nd place, then this would've definitely won. It's head over heels better than JJ and Whale Trail (previously my favorite tap-to-ascend endless runner). So, it's the new & improved version plus has it's own unique spin. Dungeon Crawlers - This is a fun as hell dungeon crawler/TBS. I usually don't consider TBS fun and I play for the challenge, which I guess is fun in it's own special way. However, this game just rocks--good pacing, fun spells, nice story, etc. I also want to say how much I love the camera setup for this game...I love it. Speed Blazers - It's a fun platformer/racer. It looks great and plays very well for the most part. The devs are already working on new stuff so kudos. Ultimately, it's like the racing/hover skating version of Final Fantasy--a cross between Final Fantasy and Sonic Rivals! Paper Monsters - I mean really...nuff said. It's not like the average person on this site doesn't know what this is. However, it got topped by those^ three games, so I hafta kinda agree with lumosthesinner. Ant Raid - I always say I like refreshingly casual versions of the more hardcore genres. This fits the bill perfectly. It's a frantic, but easier on the mind RTS/TD. It does evoke some thinking and has pretty gnarly challenges, so it's not child's play either. Edit I switched Ant Raid and Paper Monsters -------------------------------------------------------------------- Shout Outs Khet - Whoo...if you're looking for an awesome and challenging virtual board game then pick up this! Honestly, next week, with the upcoming added AI, the game will prolly have the smartest AI on iOS. Right now it's already pretty great and it won a Mensa award ya'll! Zombie Bunnies - Pretty good stuff! it's not as fun as the other games, but it's very fun in its own right. It's a mixture of endless runner and kinda-shmup. Plus you can destroy a bunch of stuff. It has a bit more depth than that. Just check out the thread because it's definitely worth a look.
Speed Blazers has my vote this week, really love it. Paper monsters is fun but really nothing great. If it would have come out in the middle of last summer I would have probably liked it more but to many really good platformers have come out since. It was the game I couldn't wait for when it was first announced but by the time it got here I was like meh its 99 cents so I'll get it. Don't get me wrong I like the game but besides the looks it very average IMO.
Blot Paper Monsters Speed Blazers No particular order. The last one I didn't really like, but it does have it's moments.
Ant Raid for me Paper Monsters is also good, but there's just something special and different about Ant Raid, so it gets my vote But PM is a close call
I voted for Ant Raid as well. I like Paper Monsters a lot as well and wish they had come out in different weeks, but c'est la vie. I played Ant Raid for the first time (on iPad) when I had only owned an iDevice for a short while. I had no expectations at all and was completely surprised by the awesomeness but also somewhat expected that there must be many games like it that I had yet to discover. I now think that LOLavi is right and that there really is something special about Ant Raid. The combination of charm, graphics, gameplay, the fact that it's casual friendly yet challenging to completely 3-star. I do think it plays just a bit better on iPad (but I find that of practically all non-platform games), but I was surprised nonetheless that it works as well as it does on iPhone. Prank did a great job porting a great game.
Man, i hope Blot gets some more votes. It was the only perfect game released this week--hell prolly ever. D@mmit to hell with blatant subjectivity. Overall a good week and any of these could be the winner.
Zombie Bunnies.... Freakin fantastic title, and the only one on the list that I'll be coming back to over and over again. Gotta love Lavafish, definitely one of the most supportive dev teams out there. =oD
Yeah, Zombie Bunnies has definitely grown on me! Once I got that face eater bunny, playing became awesome!
I'd love to try Zombie Bunnies since I loved Squirmee, but it is a shame that it's only available for iPhone 4.
1. Paper Monsters [No Brainer] 2. Dungeon Crawlers [I`m a Dungeon Sucker] 3. Hank Hazard [ Hank is the biggest and bravest hamster I have seen in months ] 3. Blot [Yeah I know but this One deserve to be on the pedestal too even everyone calls me Crazy]
Awesome! It really is a flawless and very fun game. Well, I guess the looping music isn't all that great but at least it has a turn off music button. It would've been foolish to think Paper Monsters wouldn't have won. (past tense on purpose) My only question is would Puzzlejuice have beaten it?
