I have a pc for gaming, it's a little old but it can run most new games. Well my parents will not let me get m-rated games but I am craving a first-person shooter. I am trying to talk them into letting me get Call of Duty 4 (my comp probably wouldn't handle six) But until then is there a good T-rated FPS for this platform?

Well, and they dislike language more than violence so an m-rated game just for violence maybe? Thanks.

Well, there's the first 3 Call of Duty games, with the second one probably being your best bet. There's some language, but nothing terrible. Otherwise I have one called Delta Force: Black Hawk Down which is actually pretty fun. Both are worth checking out. I should also mention that Call of Duty: World at War has a content filter that turns off the severe language and the gore, leaving some blood and minor language. Same goes for Gears of War, which is a must have if your computer can handle it.

A couple of good M-Rated ones with minimal language:
    Half-Life/Half-Life 2
Call of Duty 4 (It has pretty much no language, other than a few uses of s__t, but it's not often at all)
Doom 3 (I didn't notice much language while playing, and my friend who beat it said he didn't notice much either)
Resident Evil 4 (ok, it's not an FPS, but an amazing game still. Not too much swearing, about on the same level as COD4)

And Left 4 Dead would be a great game as well, but there's frequent uses of pretty much every word other than the f word. If that's your parents' biggest concern, you're good, but if they're critical about any swearing, skip it. Same goes for L4D2, which has some pretty extreme violence, but the same amounts of language.

I'll take a look at what games I have and see if I have any other good ones to suggest, but I think you'll be set with what you have there.

Thanks a lot, didn't know call of duty 5 or gears of war had a content filter. I will check those out.

Yeah that's the only reason I ever ended up playing either one back when I got to play them... I should also mention that Left 4 Dead 2 has a gore filter, since it's way more violent than L4D1, and Gears 2 has two separate gore and language filters, but is only for the 360 as of now. Half-Life 1 also has a content filter, but there's nothing in there that really needs to be filtered, other than some minor gore. You can get HL1 Source on Steam for 10 bucks, and it's more than worth it.

Is there some way to get a demo for CoD 5? My comp barely meets the minimum requirements. (My processor anyway, my RAM and Graphics card are well above).

I'm not sure, but I have it and it's definetly worth getting. I'm pretty sure there's a demo though, since COD4 had one. But there definetly is a content filter and it edits out everything, so don't worry about it.

Oh yeah, should have thought about that since I do that quite frequently... I'm not really sure if there's a demo. There should be though, since the others in the series have one.

If your parents only care about the langage, then Serious Sam HD is a good M-rated pick. There are several gore options, from red to kiddy to hippie to plain none.

As long as you can ignore the fact that it's a shitty (at least by today's standards) FPS with Doom-style graphics, go for it.

I honestly don't know what to say, though. FPS are violent in nature, and're gonna be pretty gorey. Bioshock, while fantastic, is pretty gorey, and has some language. Modern Warfare 2 really isn't that bad, but yeah... Perfect Dark Zero, maybe? Or Halo 3! Tell 'em it's Kool-Aid! wait, nvm. PC, not 360.

Where is the love for Quantum of Solace?! It's a James Bond game with virtually no language that runs off of the COD4 engine!!!

I dunno man... It looks like a good game, but it just doesn't look as good as the other 007 games I've played. Nightfire is still my favorite... I've spent so many hours playing team deathmatch with my cousin against the computer...

And for a good free game check out Combat Arms. It's free and I've been playing a ton of it today. You can turn off the blood and language as well.

Well, it's based off the CoD4 engine. It's really fun and there are special gadgets too! :)

Oh, yeah, Combat Arms is amazing, but not available on Mac, and w/ CrossOver it's extremely slow :(

Thanks guys, it looks like my parents are ok with Cod 5. (with the language and violence turned off anyway) And I do have republic commando and Star wars Battlefront but ever since I bought a new graphics card Republic commando won't run. It's weird. Thanks.
