I don't understand.... I've been on every floor from 10 downwards and the sword does not glow, I cannot sense it. All I've seen at the top is a message that says something a bit like "catch the warlock sword thief" but that seems to show up a lot regardless of the level I'm on. Help! BTW can bats be repelled? Getting about 20 coming at you so fast gets quite annoying...
Is it better to clear out a whole floor before descending or hop down the stairs as soon as you find them? I've been going straight down but I get the feeling more exploration would benefit me.
Also, my pendant that repelled spirits has disappeared from my equiped list - does it only work for a short time?
bluewobmle88, If you use the telepathy potion, it will tell you if the Sword is above or below you, near or far, on the same floor, and same map. That's the best way to find it. Otherwise, well better get scrambling or you're dead meat. If your Spiritbane amulet disappeared, then somebody stole it. MidianGTX, totally depends on how you want to play. But yeah, artifacts and stuff are spread out all over the dungeon, so you'll likely miss a lot of that and other things... not that you necessarily need them to get the Sword.
I've used 3 telepathy potions and all it says is "You can't sense the sword anywhere!" How does that help?
That helps because it tells you that you're too far away from the Sword to sense it. Where were you when you lost it? Go back there. Jeez, I feel like I'm trying to find your keys or something. I don't know where you put it! Corbin, we knew that was going to happen... don't worry about it.
I think I know why. Young kids must be seeing the screenshots and assuming it's a fast action game (it kinds looks like one in screenshots). Then they find out it's something else, don't get the gameplay or the graphics, and throw a 1 star hissy fit even though they got it free.
I lost it on level 14 and just assumed the warlord was heading down to 20 (or further) to get it away from the exit so that's where I went. But you said it should tell me if it's above or below me right when I cast it right? It doesn't..... Anyway, I'm dead now. Got caught in a centipede lair on level 26 with no way out so I just waited til the ceilings came down. Too many centipedes and bats spawning down there imo; too much getting attacked when you're just trying to look for the sword.
There's a tutorial in the Main Menu. It is a RPG/Strategy game where your goal is to find and return with...the Sword of Fargoal.
Nothing as of yet but, like many of the dungeon features, like fountains and tables, they might eventually have a purpose.
is this game really worth it? ive heard mixed thoughts so im on the fence about it. well worth my time not money, as its free.
... Yeah, they are kinda magical looking aren't then? Stay tuned... Do you like creative dungeon-crawling adventure games? If so you'll like it, unless you're expecting 3D razzmatazz, then maybe you should go play Dungeon Hunter.
By getting to level 20 and looking for it. Also, Sword of Fargoal is actually a very old, very famous C64 game. There is tons of info about the basic gameplay out there if you google the title. You can also get an enhanced PC version for free.
Ha! Haha! Having fun with the bold feature today. Er, well there's a whole sort of story you can read, and a tutorial, but just go to floor 20 and grab the sword and then leave. Can't get simpler than that.
