ataloss, the "Max Performance" option lets you toggle between 60FPS and 30FPS, if you want to try to save a little battery. Santoron, that stairs issue is a bug. I'd seen it before but was unable to reproduce... will resolve. r10k, agreed about the tutorial... we will be updating this as we release more updates. Figured we shouldn't hold 1.1 back any longer at this point. bluewomble88, an invisible rat?! OK, no that's not supposed to happen. When did that occur, what were you doing? The screen flicker is also a known issue, which may be a bug with the OS/video player, but we will try to find a workaround in the meantime. We will submit a update with fixes most likely next week/weekend. Doffie, it's not as bad as one guy who posted on forums.fargoal.com, he had some insane level and XP going on, heh. Anyway, in the original C64 version, I don't know if you could even reach XP level 20 at all... the XP requirements doubled each level.
Ah, I see you've discovered the Curse of the Drunken Scot. You're just lucky you didn't end up wedged in an open barrel with your head stuck in a dwarf. Try to be more careful next time.
The idea of using a barrel's top as a shield is fantastic! Btw, played many rounds already in all three difficulty levels and I just found ONE (!!) magic sack in total! Did you made these changes? Or did I have some bad runs? Because nothing is more annoying than leaving gold behind! Besides that and the bugs already found - FANTASTIC update! Love it!
Re: invisible rat. I was just wandering around level 3 in a previously discovered area and I was attacked by a rat. It took about 4HP off my first and I killed it with one blow but there was no rat there, only thin air.
There have been various adjustments, but you should be able to find Magic Sacks readily enough, mostly as free objects lying on the ground. So, chalk it up to bad luck then. Hmm... my guess is you were right next to a tunnel, am I right? Rats spawn in tunnels more than usual, and if they are "inside" the tunnel entrance then you won't be able to see them. Other than that, can't think of any reason a rat should be invisible.
Is it me, or are there not only a lot more traps per level, but a lot more of the interactive objects (rubble piles, barrels, chests) are trapped than before? Honestly I'm finding that every half minute or so I'm running afoul of some trap or another. I'm playing right now, standing in one particular area, and there are literally 5 traps around me in my line of sight, and I'm zoomed in pretty close.
No, just you have more traps per level (in Soviet Russia). Uh, I don't think so. The trap probability for chests and rubble hasn't changed at all. There may be more rubble than before, though. Also, there are special trappy areas that are not part of the typical item distribution.
Would the centipede lair be one such area? Because counting the red dots on the mini-map, there are 31 traps on this level, and I've hit every damn one of them.
MUAHAHAH! Have you tried unleashing those centipedes and letting them fill up in there for a while? That is fun. I got a good screenshot of that, heh. Actually there's more than one kind of centipede lair... which do you mean?
This is the one with the dark green floor with lighter green cobblestones, and light brown walls with dark brown cobblestones. I only assume it's a centipede lair because of the numerous holes in the ceiling. That, and the buckets of centipedes offered some clues. I also noticed sword enchantments are much more scarce here too. Also, how the hell do you use wands? I'm either a retard, haven't had enough coffee, or the mechanism for using them is obscure enough that I don't look like an idiot for asking.
Ahh, yeah there are some centipedey caves like that, but there is also another kind of centepede lair... The enchantments are not scarce, things have just been adjusted and they are less prevalent in the normal chests. Enchantment is special, so seek it out in special places. OK, to use the wands, there are two ways to do it: 1. Double-tap and HOLD somewhere on the screen, and it'll go BLIP! and you'll see the aiming line. Drag around to aim, release to fire. Then you can touch the action button if you want to shoot the last target again. 2. Touch and hold on the character until it goes BLIP! Then do as in #1.
That's understandable, thanks! I'm looking forward to as much info as you can pack into it *goes searching for a killer rat*
Are you guys considering putting a lite or free version out? I never played a rogue type game and don't want to pay 5$ to see if I like the genre.
Anybody find anything "weird" yet? Guibs, we don't have any immediate plans for a LITE version... we're just swamped basically, the three of us are doing this part-time.
