Half finished game? His first version of the game (current) is more complete than most of the stuff I buy from the appstore and is without a doubt the funnest roguelike type of game I've played on any system in a long long while.

Yes I agree but the new update will be huge and will include a ton of new stuff hence why right now it's only half finished. Do keep up!

I have no problems keeping up. However you should play the game as is, or wait patiently (and silently), as pressuring the dev won't do you much good and it comes off as being rude.

I'm not pressuring the dev, I'm asking when it will be ready. The update was mentioned as maybe being submitted by or just after Xmas - that was 4 weeks ago. I don't see the harm in requesting more news each week.

Yup, it's taking a while, but it will be worth the wait. Working on ranged attack items right now... you wouldn't want me to rush past that would you? ;)

love this game,, i just got back into it.

wanted to know if you are planning to add a dot to show where tunnels are on the mini map, cause that'd be a swell idea. :D

also, when i get a weapon enchant, should i be applying it right away? cause why not just make it an automatic thing, where it enchants the sword for you?

sorry as you can tell i'm not too familiar with this game, but i have played RogueTouch so i'm not a complete noob. i love everything about this game.

PS, i'm also looking to buy Saucelifter, can you convince me? :)

    1. Such a swell idea it's already been done! :D Secret tunnels and floor traps are on the map in the next update.

    2. There's no reason to not enchant your weapon right away, and I agree it should just be automatic (that goes for Sacks too). I know this point has been brought up to Madgarden, but I'm not positive if it's making it into the next update or not. But there should be some good all around UI changes in general, so that might be one of them.

    3. BUY SAUCELIFTER!!!! The amazing graphics alone are worth the price, but the fact that it's a SPOT ON recreation of one of my childhood favorites, Choplifter, makes it into one of my favorite device games. It's one of the most under-appreciated games on the store, IMO. It's pretty dang hard, but oh so fun. There's a lite, so get that for sure and if you like it you cannot go wrong picking up the full version.

Hey, I get to respond to two dumbies at once. ;)

dumbname, yup I have added the stuff you mentioned... your sword will be auto-enchanted now, and if/when it makes sense to manually do it in the future, it will change again.

As for Saucelifter, yes download the LITE version... it's a pretty good indication of what you're getting. It uses accelerometer controls (and pretty damned well IMO ;) ) so if you're a fan of those (or not) then you'll know to expect there. Also... it's a frickin' flying saucer, you can't go wrong with that man! :D

BOARDDUMB, haven't seen you lately, welcome back. Yes, sacks "just are" and there's no need to equip them or anything. A lot of fine-tuning of this sort of stuff is happening for the update, so there will be less confusion and/or needless effort.

EDIT: dumbname, hey thanks for the support! Hope you like it. I'm planning to do a sequel too, maybe this spring/summer if I have time.

Hey Paul! Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I've had a nightmare of a time with my iPod the last few weeks, I've had to do 4 full restores which take like 12 hours at a time. Needless to say, I've been fussing with my touch more than I've been enjoying the games on it. I was trying to be a good Fargoal samaritan and answer some questions, but couldn't remember some of the details! I haven't had a chance to play the latest build, but the ipod's been doing ok the last 2 days so I think I'll go ahead and dive in and poke around.

And I think I just netted you another Saucelifter sale, you totally owe me a cow abduction mode in Saucelifter 2!! :D ;)

Hope you're back to normal soon.

You know... I think I could make this work really well in the sequel actually, heh... if you play as the bad guys. ;)

:( Starting to wonder if the update will ever come out. Quite a few games have promised updates over the last few months with no sign, given up on this one too I'm afraid. :(

Hey bluewomble88... fear not, as I am literally working 'til the wee hours on this update, *every* night. It just happens to be a fairly substantial update, and we don't have a big studio of developers to work on it like some of these other big apps.

If more people were buying it perhaps I could hire some help. ;)

Does the update include a four directional touchpad option? I don't like the swipe controls that much.

Please don't forget the people who are absolutely not interested in a blown-up iPod without any killer features. Just give me all your wonderful update stuff on my beloved iPhone too :)

Huh? Swipe? Errr... look: wherever you set down your finger, at this spot an invisible dpad will be activated and you can move like a four directional touchpad. Go back to the initial point where your finger was first and you'll stop. Just don't lift your finger every time. Sheesh... :D

We will be sure and have every bit of the functionality supported on the iPhone that goes into the planned iPad version (within the technical limits, of course).

In fact, it will probably be an in-app 'device detect' that will set them apart (for the display, etc.). The main things that have an 'opportunity' to be better are the large screen display of the maps, plus the HD videos for transitions, etc. So shoot us over your suggestions and know that they would function on the iPhone version as well!
