GameClub Sword of Fargoal (by Fargoal, LLC)

Sword of Fargoal Legends (published by Chillingo) will not be getting upgraded to 2.0 it will remain the "classic" version. Just wanted to clarify that.

 

Does it have the latest update of the classic version, i.e. fancy retina support?

Yep, all versions have retina support now.

 

They all have the same tilesets now. If your iPod/iPhone device is beefy enough, you will see the high-res versions.

Fargoal 2 has a new tileset, with high-res/retina etc. support.

 

i see so the original has the also has the same tilesets as sofl, why am i not seeing them im iphone 4...

 

If you go into SETTINGS/VIDEO do you have SMOOTH mode enabled?

Strong vote here for a lighter look. Aesthetics influence this vote, but also some accommodation for aging eyes.

I tend to have _very_ long sessions when I'm adventuring --- ain't no pick up and put down game for me.

 

JEEZ can somebody make a Fargoal Legends/Fargoal 2 FAQ or something?

Legends = Fargoal 1, forever.
Fargoal 2 = Fargoal 2.
Both universal.

Doffie, OK, I'll try to make a reasonable compromise for lighting. You'll be able to snuff out your light and stuff to sneak around, but I guess I don't have to make it sooper dark since it really just affects character stats/skills.

 

I went ahead and bought SoF Legends last night. Can't wait for the SoF 2.0 update.

I'm also back again losing - I mean spending - several hours a day hunting for the sword. Damn, this game just doesn't get old. Not a bit. So wonderful.

 

Am I the only one that prefers the dark? I like the dark...it makes it more spooky dungeon-y to me...

 

I like it, but I don't know if I want it all of the time. It would be cool to have the occasional room that just happens to be pitch black.

I love the dark/spookiness of the Legend mode. If it weren't so damn hard, I'd play it more. Lighting+shadows+spookiness = good stuff.
