Is there any reason you can't create one universal app with two modes? (such as Classic and Extended) The double universal app sounds like something that'll confuse people.

There are many reasons why this is the best approach for Fargoal moving forward. The two versions will be named clearly, so there should be little confusion. Nothing is ever perfect though, eh? Hopefully people will survive the change with minimal emotional scarring.

Well, emotional scarring for customers equals financial scarring for you ;)

I don't know, I'm sure I'll live with whatever you're cooking up. All I know is a manual would be nice (lots of info, as requested a long time ago) and keeping things as simple as possible never hurts.

Keep up the good work- it's appreciated!

Oh yeah, that makes perfect sense. have two identical apps in the app store rather than making the classic and newer fargoals open for everyone. good job.

Haven't played Fargoal for a while, since getting my 4th gen.

Anyway, I just noticed in the latest version, that the Lore screens text is insanely tiny. Unreadable actually. Not a big deal at all, but I was just surprised. Maybe I remember wrong, but a few months back, it was larger text I think?

Otherwise, wow, love all the improvements!!!

Just one of the many things I have to fix for 2.0.

I'm still not digging the two versions thing. I recently bought Sword of Fargoal for my iPhone4, so which version will i apply for after the update? Will i even get the full 2.0 Update?

People bought the game not knowing about any changes. What if i have iPad version and want 2.0 instead? I should buy it again while people with cheaper iPhone version having it for free? Both apps should be merged in one, keeping it as classic version (that's what they paid in 1st place) and version 2.0 should be a different app.

Yes, the iPhone version will be upgraded to 2.0. More people own the iPhone version than the iPad version, so this makes most sense.

Yes indeed... I should do all of my work for free and not make enough income to keep updating the app, as is currently the case. Just so that some people can milk their $3.99 purchase to infinity. This is business. Buy the two versions of the app, or don't. I'm giving the best upgrade option possible for everyone here, instead of making a totally new 2.0 app that you'd have to buy separately. The game will continue to rock on with version 2.0, regardless.

    End of story. ;)

This is one of the three games that has lasted on my device . I am buying the Legends version once it goes universal just for support alone.

actually, you bought the game at some point in time with a given set of features present at the moment of buying. So obviously, you thought, the game was worth the price at that point in time.
I think noone can EXPECT infinite or any updates after pruchase. It is really nice that the dev continues to improve the game (even though he has no obligation to do so). If you won't get the new features you can still play the version that you bought some time ago... So, nothing to complain about IMO

I would purchase 10 different version.
Every single version was and is THAT GREAT!
One of the view true iPhone classics!

Errm, isn't it exactly what i just said - make new version and keep old as old, so you can make more money? I never said that you should work for free.

It just makes no sense to keep both versions as old. Most people really want the 2.0 upgrade. Anyway, it's OK... I know what I'm doing. ;) I wasn't *really* asking for a better idea earlier.

Sounds good to me. My current iPhone version is the version that will continue to update correct?

The "old" version (iphone) is published by Fargoal, LLC

The "new" version (ipad) is published by Chillingo

So you don't want Paul to work for free... but you want him to share the profit from the 2.0 version with a company that isn't paying development for all this new content or cause user confusion by adding yet another version of fargoal on the appstore. Legends can't be pulled cause it's controlled by Chillingo, so the iphone version would be the one that's pulled... But it's also the version with the largest user base (because it was out longer and also went free for a day).

The way it's being done now is honestly the best solution for the devs AND us fans.

    You're correct sir.

Sword of Fargoal for iphone will go Universal and upgrade to the new super fancy 2.0 version

Sword of Fargoal Legends for iPad will also go Universal but will remain as is so players can still have the classic version if they don't want to play with the new armors, weapons, and other goodies that are being added

Will you add a Classic Mode into SoF 2.0 iPhone Version aswell?

Will it be possible to wield different types of swords and armor in 2.0? Would be an awesome feat imo. Incredibly polished game btw. Best two bucks i've spent in a while.
