Glad my comments made sense. Funny thing, Saturday I didn't feel that hot and fired up a second game. I guess that feels like a 'second chance' if my current Legendary character bites it. Anyway, she found a Temple shield on the 2nd floor. The game's been an absolute cakewalk ever since. Oh yeah, did I mention she found the Dragonscale shield on 14? Unbelievable luck.
Oh DAMN. Reading a thread on the official boards, I just realized the amulets are equipped only one at a time. I was wondering why I was so vulnerable to ghosts even owning the Spirit Bane necklace. I though it sucked. Then, I fired up the game, went through the inventory and clicked it... and then I saw the status message as it switched over. I sat there for a second, then went 'OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH NOW I get it.' Have you considered any methods to help slow players like me separate the things that are 'active all the time concurrently' (orbs), 'active all the time but only one at a time' (necklaces), 'active only when invoked' (wands), in their heads a bit better? I'm a UI designer for a living, so, I'm definitely NOT suggesting a new feature or something coarse like that. Just think about it a bit is all I ask.
VeganTnT, the contest should be resolved in on of the next updates... gotta write some special code for it yet. akasnowmaaan, we will be adding some status indicators and stuff that should help with that. Vinvy, it is a big task, will take a couple of months yet. You guys should be outside playing in the summer sunshine anyway.
finally developers started to do ios4 upgrades, and of course the first ones are one of the best developers for iphone so minimized game eats about 40Mb, now i see why new iphone will have more ram than 3gs
It's classified TOP SECRET. Also, I don't remember. I just fixed some stuff randomly, closed my eyes and clicked SUBMIT! That's how I do things, you know. Yeah, hmm we might be able to knock that down a bit by freeing up some textures and re-loading when it's switched back in. Everyone is just learning the ramifications of this new multitasking malarkey.
Can someone give me some tips on getting the Sword back from the mage? I've already killed "the mage" a bunch of times, but I still have not gotten the Sword back!
If you get near to killing him he will teleport away. To prevent this, let him try and attack you at a distance -- let him summon up skeletons and fire bolts at you until his magic is depleted. (Watch the tip of his staff) Once it's depleted, move in for the kill. Note that this won't work if you're invisible.
Ok, I tried that out. I let him use up all of his magic on me, and then I kill him. Now there is no mage to be found, but it also says that I still do not have the Sword back.
i did not criticize you! i think sof is example of excellent support. just curious how 3gs will handle memory management when many apps will have this feature, especially because no new iphone for me when it starts, my wife already declined this proposal, lol.
Five days without a post on this thread? WHERE IS EVERYBODY??? *echos* Is it just me, or do you seem to find EVERY SINGLE SODDING ACID TRAP when you're trying to hold onto a Mirror Shield for as long as possible?
Oh, I'm still here. I've just been a little preoccupied with a few projects which have necessarily reduced my game playing time. I hope to get back into it soon though.
I'm going to submit another little bugfix update shortly... accidentally disabled the iPod music as well as the rotation of the keyboard in the right landscape mode.
Grin. It's just you, Jack. True, it's been too quiet here. Personally, I've been busy losing 4 games in a row on Legend, which I have won once. Trying to decide whether to continue beaten my head against the dungeon wall. Maybe we should take a vote?
Anyone else having issues with iOS4 and the background music cutting out when you go between levels? Jumping in and out of the app fixes it. For a while. No pattern that I can tell. Also still missing some textures, like the ones in front of 'doors in the walls to other dungeons' not showing up. Maybe 1 missing every 3 levels. Thanks for being so responsive.
Everything works fine for me. Are you running a lot of apps in the Task bar? Apps with save states are taking up memory so that may cause some issues. Although if you're on a 3GS you should have plenty of Ram Only issue I have is the screen flipping to ipod touch landscape (270 degrees) when I double tap to open the task bar. Not a huge issue since I on'y do it once or twice to force quit some apps
