Would it be better if I made the action button appear after you drag the aiming line, and then you touch that to fire (instead of firing on touch-up)? It would avoid some accidental firings...
I have it on good authority (from the gods of Chaos themselves) that Paul never has bad ones. They're ALL good ideas.
I'm so glad you believe in my ideas, Jack. I feel as if I have been given the Mandate of Heaven... and now am finally free to create the giant POO MONSTER I have been dreaming of.
Incidentally, the next update is going to kick ass. Still planning it, but it's a major overhaul. The upgrade will have to destroy any existing dungeons, but it will keep your character and create a new radtastic dungeon around him/her.
Ahh... Giant Poo Monsters... such fond memories. But on a different note, I seem to be experiencing a minor buggie... My Heroine (Dame Salad) is trekking through a Blitz Beetle hive which is also rather rife with Shadow Dragons. Baaaaad mix. I love it. But here's the issue... I have one Black Orb, and one Silver Orb... but... "My eyes! The orbs do nothing!" With the two orbs, I should be able to absorb both, but they both have full effect. Being blasted by a Blitz Beetle that you can't even see is a pain that must be experienced to be believed. Kinda like having your wisdom teeth pulled. But with less Vicodin.
Hmm. You know, that is really, really upsetting. Somebody already made a POO MONSTER. As for the bug, that's odd. It's obvious, but just for my sanity... can you just double/triple-check that you indeed are carrying both orbs, and that you don't have more than one of each? It shouldn't happen, of course.
Well, somebody also made a roguelike. Several roguelikes, in fact. So you just have to take your Poo Monster and treat it like your Roguelike. You have the theory, now make it better. So much better, that even Conker fans like me and Dogma fans like Vegan will forget all about those that came before. Did I mention that I've not so much as touched Castle of the Winds (my former Roguelike obsession, one that had been going nonstop for FIFTEEN YEARS) since I picked up SoF? Even if someone's done it before... you can do it better. As for the bug, I just re-re-re-checked, and I do have exactly one black orb, and one silver orb. I took a screenshot, I'll send it to you when I can.
Castle of the Winds, I'll have to check that out. Alrighty, well there's got to be some weird corner case for the orbs... I'll hunt it down anyway.
It's freeware now, though I did cough up the 25 dollars to register the Shareware version back in the day... It's one of those roguelikes with an inventory that just doesn't stop, with randomly enchanted weapons similar to the Diablo series. It's got an infinitely more complex inventory system, but a super-simple magic layout, so it's a nice balance. But, like I said... 15 years of CoW is now so far on the back shelf it's named a dust bunny "Mrs. Nesbitt" and is having tea with it as we speak.
Hurried gold I am not sure about the Burried gold. When offered that option are you burring some of the gold you already have or are you digging up burried gold. And if you are burrying some of you gold why would you do that. Isn't the object to get that gold to a temple. Do you get credit if the gold is burried after you reach the temple. And is there a guide where you can look up the answers to your questions. Thanks a bunch.
Initially, we will be adding 3 new character classes (the current one is fighter), as well as the option to resurrect a dead hero. Later, we will be adding themes/skins for the game. Likely they will be 99c each, with some bundle deals available. Themes are a lot of work so they may cost $1.99. Hey wazz, the buried/hidden gold is so that enemies don't pick it up. There's a bunch of info about Sword of Fargoal on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sword_of_Fargoal
Ok, here's how burying works. If your gold is maxed out, and you can't carry any more, you have the option to bury, or hide, the gold. You're not picking it up, and you don't get "credit" for it, but since it's hidden, human enemies can't come by and pick it up. Once you've made a sacrifice at the temple, you do have to go back and dig your gold back up. You can also bury your gold from the "Use" menu, which simply buries all of the gold you're currently carrying. I do this quite a bit to get rid of my gold before I step on a temple so I can use the temple to heal up, then go get my gold and make my donation at full health. If you've been keeping up with this forum, you'll know that there are perks for doing so. And as for the guide... You're in it.
Well, I think it's going to be a VERY corner-case... I left the map by accident (sprinted right into a tunnel), and when I came back, they were both working perfectly. Go fig.
