Right, inside of a crushed chest So, it's actually some content related to the next update? Pleeeaaaaase tell me what it is for. New game, btw.
The black screen at the start is actually an error in the video player (most likely specific to os 4.0). The video still runs and once it's over the game plays fine. I just didn't have the sound on and the sudden thought of no fargoal left me bewildered.
That's good, I guess I am wondering if it really was a big issue as far as it is known and if so if you were able to duplicate the data loss aspect of it. As I said I haven't had the problem myself, but I would be pretty sad if my current character disappeared after making it to the later teen floors.
Well I was all set to play but the download is still going and says there are 47 minutes remaining. That and lots of dropped connections with iTunesÂ… couldn't they have picked another day for server issues?
Haha, found my second Wonky in one game I guess, that's my new hobby, collecting the mysterious Wonkies
woohoo! someone found the painbringer amulet!! It is my new favorite item beside the wand of BAF (not saying what that means until someone finds one)
Downloading the update now. (Yeah, that's right, I didn't do it at work.) I want a wonk! I don't care what it does -- but for the next update, you should make it do something, Paul. Just don't explain what it does, only display something like, "You hear a weepy sound." Then on level 20, you'll discover that the minotaur is Jocelyn Wildenstein, and the weepy sound is her being shown a mirror with a picture of her before all the plastic surgery tucked into the corner. Or you could make it go "ping" for no reason at all.
Heh, you guys always make me chuckle. That's what keeps me coming back to do updates. The "wonk" (and if you're really lucky... a "funk" ) won't affect gameplay in any way, it's just a dud item. And yes it seems you can get them from crushed chests, heh. Perhaps it *will* make an official appearance in the next update! chrisb3, an ogre teleported you, are you sure? Heh... funny.
Okay, playing the update... so far my notes: - Trap tiles on cobblestone floor looks different. - Dragons roar. I take that to mean they're now capable of vocalizing "Ooh, barbecue!" - Dark werecat! Or a furry! Either way it's dead and will yiff no more to the betterment of mankind. - Loose coins on the floor have been redesigned with more depth to them. - Sleep trap behaviour is different. You don't fall asleep right away. - You can dig in ossuaries. Is there ever anything buried there? - Killer wasp! Doesn't look like Blackie Lawless though. Swatted it. - Fireball go BOOM. - Ashes on the floor from a hole in the ceiling. New trap? - New blue dungeon theme. Still exploring, but so far so good. Even found a black orb just lying on the floor.
Dark werecats aren't new to 1.3 Dark Warriors can transform into them; but it looks like the transformation time has been cut down drastically If there are ashes on the floor and a hole above... Maybe someone fireballed your rope?
Vegan, I think neither the iPhone nor the iPad runs os 4 yet. But I guess the black screen thing appearing on the iPad means something to someone. Just a mild annoyance though, doesn't interfere with gameplay. Think it's neat that even small updates in this game can provide so much excitement.
Yup, ashes means a burned rope, somehow. Not to undermine our own update here, but 100 Rogues was just released, and it looks pretty darned cool! So if you're wanting some more dungeon crawliness, go take a peek!
Visual changes are most enjoyable. In the newly-colored and designed dungeons, when you use the light spell you get a BIG sparkly effect. Excellent. Now I want to find a really good shield and the new stuff that Mrs. M likes so much.
No time for 100 Rogues now (although I was waiting like hell)! But wow, just have all shields really close together: the dragon shield, the makabre, the reflective, the temple... haha, wow. I went with the temple one. Question, was it always the way, that if you enter a dungeon, all enemies respawn new? .... it feels strange, since if I clear something, go up the stairs, go back, and the room is full again... was it the same before the update?
Yes, it's always been this way since the C64 days, but we will be changing this (likely) in the next update. Seriously, the dungeon is going to be a crazy ecosystem when we're done with it. Search for "roguelike" and it will pop up near the bottom of the search list...
