I've had the same thing happen on level 20, though I could move off the wall. Seems to only happen when there is no temple on the map being played
Yes, that's exactly it... unfortunate oversight on my part. But, it only happens in 1 map out of about 100, so it will have to wait until the BIG MOTHER update... unless we do a mini-update between now and then.
You're lucky. I can't move off the wall, gatizo, but will try some other, at this point desperate, strategy. Wish me luck.

If you have a teleport spell, can you use it and if so, does it work and get you off the wall? Good luck! If I didn't know any better I'd say the unfortunate "oversight" on madgarden's part was just his morbid need to kill your heroes off in the strangest ways possible. He gets a kick outta that, but I'm sure you know by now.
Yep, I can teleport, but it only takes me back to my beacon. Shieldless, with few healing potions and bedevilled by swarms of centipedes, that's not where I'd like to be. Will make a run for the stairs or a tunnel tonight, good-wife-of-the-devil.
Sorry, Paul. Not centipedes but other stuff that scared me. But, aha, Mrs. M. helped me out. Instead of hitting Temple from my beacon, I just cast teleport and got out of a jam. Went up, found more war shields, and am now down on dungeon 24, trying to get my butt seriously kicked. No, actually I am hoping to stumble on something delicious like a dragon shield or something else I haven't seen before.

Desperate -- Need Help Ok, I just climbed from dungeon 24 back up to the black area of dungeon 20, the one without a temple. I am sitting in my second beacon, poisoned and ill-equipped, and right in front of me is a big pile of what looks like gold, with gems inside and a golden sword. I cast Opening in a couple of places but nothing happened. Very near is a nasty dragon, a wimpy wolf, several bats and a couple of lesser enemies. Am I supposed to somehow gain access to those treasures? If so, how??? There is, of course no obvious door or opening. Never saw anything like this pile and haven't read re such from anyone here either. Don't want to die without knowing the answer to this mystery! Scared!
Just run into it and your hero will fill his/her pockets with as much gold as they can carry. But be warned, every time I've been there the Fire Drakes swarmed me (I was at a low level and fell through a hole). I also haven't seen a temple on that level so be very careful!
