Personally I would upgrade the AK and save up for the awesome striker.

Look this thread is about promotions, if you got a personal matter about you think he is cloning then PM him. Its looks unprofessional to go to a developers forum and just call people out. If he was cloning then the reviews on his game would reflect that. Obviously there is no complaint of clone in reviews, so most customers are happy with his product.

Actually I would rather have new weapons ,stages ,and missions than graphics upgrade.I think Madfinger would have added those effects if they didnt run into any issues. I am pretty sure Madfinger wanted the game speed as optimized as possible and didnt include anything that they felt might even cause slowdown even just a little.

I love the artwork and cute sounds , this looks like a winner. As a fellow developer I know its tough to make solid platformers but it looks like you succeeded. GoodLuck!!

You also need to start a thread of your game in the iphone games or apps section of this website too. Not just promo section but other sections too.

It sounds very cool. I have been hankering for a game like Limbo for iOS.

Yes I have been in the developer forum's in this and other websites. Its seems latetly apple's review process has slowed down last 3 weeks. Iam going on 9 days days and I have been super excited waiting for the games release and cant wait on the feedback when the players get the game in thier hands!!:)

Madfinger has also said apple is taking a long time giving thier update approval also, so it doesnt matter if your a big or small company the waiting period includes everyone. I hope the 3 video's can hold everyone over until the game finally releases. Maybe I will get luck and the review will come today:D

Since its been longer than 10 days I have emailed apple, I hope they didnt forget my game:confused: .Apple sent an automated response , I have yet to hear from an actual person yet. So hopefully everything goes through and when my email reaches a live person. Honestly this wait has driven me stir crazy but I know other developers have been going through the same process Iam so I know Iam not the only one. I cant wait for this game to release , I know gamers will love Super Meebo. Thanks for the support and positvie comments.

Right now I have noticed Apple has been very slow at reviewing games and things have be a little out of whack ever since Apple changed the app store search engine a couple of weeks ago. Its hard to understand how the new search engine could be causing them all these problems but it has. Hopefully Apple can clear things up soon. My game has been waiting for review for almost 2 weeks now.

Iam sorry to say that Super Meebo's Epic 2D game will not come out on the appstore. Apple guidelines says that my game does not meet thier graphics standards. I think my game isnt the best graphics but much better than the crap that's out there but apple seeming to think they arent good enough.
So this topic is closed Iam sorry for those who were waiting on the game, I can see why so many developer make simple games now. Developer make so much simple stuff because they are afraid to spend time to make a game thats good just to get rejected.

After waiting 10 days , apple has rejected my game. Apple said my game graphic's werent up to thier standards graphic's wise so the rejection. Well it took me a long time to make my game and I dont ever see myself taking that long to make another game. So for any developer who wants to know why most developers in the appstore make such simple games, this is the reason.

I took my time to make an action adventure game thats had many features in it. A main story mode plus to unlockable mini-games , all for nothing:mad:.

Advise: Re-submit, no matter what. Could have been a bad reviewer or something, but all you can do is try.

Second: It sounded more like the Interface (menus, etc) weren't good enough for maneuvering, or looked really bad, or something like that more than the gameplay graphics from the clip you included. Maybe try taking a look at that anyways?

If it has nothing to do with the second, I'd be really annoyed by apple if i were you too. I've seen lots of awful looking like it. While I wouldn't say your game's visually stunning, I've seen much, much worse get on the app store. Your game actually looks pretty solid, and doesn't appear that bad graphically. And it does look like a fun game.

Thanks for the advice but Iam just going into another project. I wanted to make games like super mario, contra, castlevania, and metroid. I have the Knowledge to do so, so I started with a platformer that I figured would at least make into $20,000-$30,000 range. The next game was going to be a contra type game, then I was going to tackle castlevania or metroid after. I can easily program those types of games with the tools Iam using, it just takes alot of time to do.
I sent an appeal to Apple and I will base my desision on that. If apple say the game will not be released, then I will just start making casual games that I know dont get rejected. Simple 1 or 2 tap games that people seem to enjoy, even though I really dont like casual games I rather make a full game type exp.
Iam used to playing Super Mario Bros, Castlevania,Pokemon,Final fantasy, etc. Those are the type of games I can relate to, about the only casual games I like are canabalt and tiny wings and I dont play them that often. But I guess Iam forced to make stuff I dont like so I dont get rejected. I hate stuff like E-pig dash, but it seems thats what apple wants and features unless you make 3D Super Graphical games that only big companies can make. Iam just angry right now, but I accept beening forced to make games I dont want to. Thats just the way of life.

I don't want to crush your dreams further, but 99% of games don't make it into that revenue range. If you meant "at least" in the sense that that is the minimum return expected for your game then you need to dial your expectations back significantly.

Looking ahead, if you want to hit that revenue range and above then you are going to have to improve your graphics. The quality bar for any kind of success on the App Store is very high, and your game has to compete in all areas including graphics and not just gameplay in order to meet that standard.

Yes I will focus on graphic's but since my time is limited and now I have to double-time to make my next game faster I cant do both graphic's and make the gameplay deeper. So now I will just make simple games and just focus more on graphic's. I hate making simple games because they are very hit or miss, either they do well or dont do well at all. A game like Super Meebo's Epic 2D platform adventure would have sold alright and gotten word of moth from the gameplay, Iam assuming you seen the video's in my link.

So from this point on instead of looking and aiming for guarenteed sucess , I will be taking more shots which was not what I wanted to do. I wanted to make games that I know would sell , instead of making games that would either sell or sell nothing. Iam just explaining why developers go the casual route instead of making deeper games. Developer's just dont want to take the risk of putting alot of effort and getting rejection so they go the casual game route.
