Frigging have 12 months left on my contract and would upgrade as they're letting you pay off the rest of your contract at £20 instead of the £45 I pay. However now on the new contracts it doesn't matter what tariff you pick, there's no unlimited data anymore. You have to pay £10 per GB and as we all know that frigging goes fast if you actually wanna use it online, especially with the HD content that the Iphone 4 will have. Takes the piss, the 3G over here in the UK isn't worthy of paying for as they all can't seem to handle using it anywhere I go anyways lol. So it's like gonna be £220 + £300 (for the handeset I'm guessing) + £45 a month and my contract offers me less than my current one. Forget it, I'll stick with the 3GS and upgrade next year with the 4G.
Where did you find out? I was looking at the O2 site recently and all I could find was the existing tariffs, all of which are unlimited. £10 per GB is crazy, smartphones are supposed to be pushing the portability of internet use, not restricting it with ridiculous costs.
http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPhone/iPhone+4/news.asp?c=21341 You only get 750mb now and then £ for every extra MB. If anyother company offers free data then I'll go with them next time.
Go to orange, they do the iPhone now. Plus since they teamed up with t-mobile the 3G has been awesome on my LG Callisto and the rewards with orange are sick
My signal with Orange and T-Mobile was never quite as reliable as O2, and I live in central London, go figure. I just read the O2 tariff article on the BBC News site, apparently only it will only affect 3% of their existing customers, the others don't use enough bandwidth to make a difference. They do seem to have ignored the fact that iPhone 4 supports HD video though, so bandwidth will naturally increase anyway, and also thing with the battery lasting twice as long will encourage people to use their phones for longer periods of time without worrying about it turning off.
Problem is we're all in that 3% and we'll probably see many complaints of how vocal that 3% will become and that will discourage people to go O2, especially if the others offer unlimited.
3 is getting the iPhone 4… I've found their plans to be reasonable, though I don't know what their iPhone plans are like. What is 3's 3G coverage like over in the UK? O2 has by far the best 3G coverage in Ireland.
Stop complaining friend. I'm selling my unlocked 3GS for £300 and buying the iPhone 4 on PAYG. Popping in my contract sim (they are putting my number on a micro for me)... and Bob's your uncle. Work a way around the problem if you really want to upgrade.
