They have pretty slow startup so you could probably air throw if you have good reactions, guiles air throw has crazy range
I was really pissed at myself after those matches, my reactions were just crap - I couldn't uppercut the sweep fast enough. And I accidentally threw a ex fireball once. Ugh. Ive been so up and down lately, Ive been playig a lot of Sakura lately, I think it's effected my sagat game. Hopefully I get my A game back for the losers semis with fffan.
Yay, I fight a 2600 BP Ken and he Rage Quits on me. He kept on failing the link between Target Combo -> Shoryuken even...
Thats not even a link, you can just mash....what a loser. Why people use kens target combo anyway escapes me, it does less damage than cr hard punch in combos because of scaling and cr p is better for blockstrings/tick throws, theres never a time where there isnt a better option.
Yeah... I wonder if there is even a use at all for the target combo. Fun Fact: If done close enough, Vega's Cosmic Heel causes him to end up on Guile's other side. On Block. Probably works on other characters as well, though.
It's a lot easier to press, P, P, DP, P then it is to press P, F, D+P, DF release P in an online match, that's why. The crouching P can also be standing blocked by someone using auto block. I'd rather use crouching K because at least it has some range.
I hate vipers ex burning kick, its the only thing that gets her out of cammys meaty divekick setups, and its safe. Its like ex sumo headbutt
Im talking about kens target combo. Its not very hard to do df p-df sp. His cr k is awesome, but his cr hard punch does more damage so its better for punishes.
I play with SP assist off, so I can't df+p, df+sp! I suppose you could risk DF+P, D, DF, P. You're losing your block though by committing to the DF. If I'm not sure if the crouching hard punch will connect on a jump in combo, I'm going to go for the target combo just so I have more time to react. If I was playing with SP assist on, I would mix it up and only use df+p if I was sure it was going to punish.
Because I have more fun playing without it! My favorite fighting game in the SF series is Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, and Volt feels more like HD Remix with the SP assist and auto block turned off. I also love hearing perspectives from people who play Volt with different combinations. I would argue that the tiers are totally different in a universe where a) people play with SP assist and auto block on b) people play with SP assist on but auto block off c) people play with auto block on only and d) people play with both off. And as long as I have fun playing d and can offer my perspective on it, I think it makes the thread as a whole a lot more interesting for other players looking to play Volt.
I like sp assist with the whole touch control thing, but i HATE autoblock. It encourages defensive play because theres no more ambiguous crossups, just dont press anything and youll be fine. Viper, akuma and dee jay would be MUCH better if there was no autoblock, so would cammy if they gave her her jumping lk. Plus the game would become more offense based, as getting knocked down by one of those characters (and to a lesser extent anybody with a crossup) would be extremely scary. Edit: If there was no autoblock id probably main akuma or dee jay, unless they gave yun or cammy their crossups.
Dont have wifi cyrus, cant play right now. Ill send you an invite later. @Rshkshee also, dont have wifi right now sorry
I think one of the biggest mistakes in the recent retweaking of Volt is allowing players to crouch block a cannon strike. It really takes away from her mixup game and it causes some of her worst match-ups to degrade that much more. I understand trying to balance a game but the high/low game that Cammy used to be able to do with the cannon strike and spiral arrow was one of the things that made her so fun to play. Entertainment value wise, it's such a mistake.
I hope that Auto Block gets removed. It's not actually really useful, because everyone's pulling backwards anyway. I want to crossup, dang it! Oh, how I long to crossup...
