Good games Cyrus. I had been awake for about 10 minutes and had my kids in bed with me so I was a little out of sorts. I'll need to get some rematches in some time when I'm a little more alert and on my game. Very nice Zangief though. Your timing and spacing were spot on. I can't remember, but how did your matches go with shoryutofu's Zangief? You guys seem pretty equal despite very different styles. And on that note, good games last night shoryutofu. Man do I hate playing against Abel. And to be honest, having never played SFIV before Volt, I had no idea that you could build your ultra so quickly like that. It really threw me off. Once I switched to Dhalsim, I felt like I played lazy, which I can never do against Abel. I kept going back to fireballs to keep distance by (bad) habit. I took for granted that you couldn't possibly have ultra again but it seemed like you had it all the time. I never saw your Abel early on, but it seems like you're really getting the hang of him. I didn't have a clue how to play against him with Balrog or Guile (and I think Balrog might be one of the worst matchups in the game unless I'm missing something). I'll see if I can think of any advice for your Abel in the Dhalsim matchup, but good games.
Good game! Your Dhalsim is also strong! Even I lost i round for perfect!>.<...I did have matches with shoryutofu's Zangief( you guys always had this question after matches with me..lol), his Zangief is very good as defense while mine is good at aggressive style of play....i look forward to your rematch....
GG cyrus, i dont know why it disconnected,(does that ever happen to anyone else, where the clock runs to 0 at the character select screen and nothing happens?) but im too tired for zangief-cammy matches right now, that match is horrible and i havent played cammy for about a week so im pretty rusty. Ill invite you some other time.
Nevermind brother! The cammy-zangief match is always intense coz It doesn't allow any mistake! However it could enhance our ability! I look forward to your rematch....
Off topic, but are there any other games on the app store that are competitive and have an active community (on ta)? This is the most involved ive ever gotten in an ios game, but its getting pretty old
If zangief makes a mistake (whiffed lariat, whiffed grab, predictable jump in, blocked greenhand) he takes a bit more than 100 damage if the cammy has good reactions, about 1 tenth of giefs life (he has 1200). If cammy makes a mistake (missed combo, blocked spiral arrow, whiffed or blocked uppercut) she takes 280, more than a quater of her life, or 600, nearly 2 thirds if gief has super/ultra(she has 950). She cant do divekick pressure because of lariat, and all of her pokes can be ultraed/spded. Plus, gief does hard spd damage with light spd range. She cant tick throw without taking a huge risk. For sure cammys hardest match, 7-3 imo. You have to play a lot more defensive as zangief, if you just block and lariat if she jumps, its extremely hard for cammy to do anything without taking a risk.
Well it's a good matchup for my Dhalsim, but it was fun playing an uber aggressive Zangief. Despite having an advantage, I don't particularly like the matchup since I have to play keep away and be very disciplined in the matchup.
I think there are a few, but nothing like this. Some of the Tiny Tower-like games have a huge following, along with Dragonvale (I don't even know what this game is) and a few others. Bike Baron has a pretty active community although there's nowhere near as much depth as there is in SF. Personally, I've gone through periods where I felt the same way. Taking a break always helps and this time of year I think that's a little easier. There are a ton of good games going free that give me a little time away from SF to hopefully come back fresh again.
Great Games Jibba. 30 matches, wowza! I've improved a bit with my Abel, but your Dhalsim is still too much to handle. That was the first time I've used so much focus during a match. I managed to shut down your fireball game and forced you to changed tactics, but in the end, it wasn't enough and I still suffer some major defeats. Thanks for sticking around for so many matches though, because of that, I think I manged to learn something new with Abel. Hopefully we run into each other again. It's a rare thing if they don't play more defensive. But generally speaking, people do tend to play more defensive vs Zangief regardless.
I would like to practice my Yun, and keep up my Vega(claw) as well. GC account is FINIX00, BP is approx 3200 ATM. Please invite me sometimes
I appreciated the matches as well. I really dislike playing Abel because of that damn ultra that catches me way too often. You hit me with it a couple times when I was at the peak of my jump too (but punching). I have promised myself that I'm going to get into training mode and find a better punish for those missed ultras. I also need to figure out how to block his rekkas. That's one of those moves (along with his wheel kick actually) that I've never felt comfortable defending against and it shows in my performance against him. I think the matches were pretty even, if not dead even, in the Dhalsim v. Abel match. And yeah, I've never seen so many focuses before. I started to get the hang of a counter-strategy as it went on since it left you open to take extra damage from my long jump punches, but I kept getting mad at myself for not realizing that you had your ultra again. In my defense for those first matches, I had my wife sleeping on top of my and was trying to squeeze in a couple matches on the sly. After losing all those Balrog and Guile matches I finally was able to get out from under her and focus a little bit. I'm not sure it would have made any difference though, especially with Balrog. I have no idea what to do with him against Abel since you seemingly could just stand there and counter every move I had. Guile and Deejay were a little better but I need to come up with a real strategy for that matchup. Anyway, definitely looking forward to the next time. Always a pleasure.
GG Finix. Was hoping you would stay for a few more rounds but I guess the lag was unbearable -_- Thanks for playing!
Feel free to add me (or I'll add you once I get the chance). I main Dhalsim but also play Guile, Deejay, Honda, Balrog and a few others. My BP is 2500. I'd be interested to see how good your Vega is. I feel that Dhalsim has a decent advantage over him. I thin Yun, on the other hand, has an advantage on Dhalsim. If you're looking to practice against anyone in particular, let me know.
Good games justgodude! I really enjoyed it and am quite surprised you were already on my friends list on GC account. lol I had to, and now again have to go for a short while so I ended rematching though (sorry!) feel free to invite me last couple of matches were bit laggy which was a pity, but still I enjoyed. Thanks!
Thank you ^^!! I will add you later, definitely. Sounds like you are very well rounded. Looking forward to spar you! But for now I've got to go, see you later!
Well, it may be more that I just enjoy mixing it up with my characters more than me being well-rounded. Haha. I'm in EST time zone by the way and generally am around nights my time and weekends.
