No, it's true. Try it out in training mode. The link is tight, but it's there.

The reason it's not an infinite is because the spacing makes it impossible to do two of those in a row. Rekka to low punch relies on exact spacing.

EDIT: Actually I just tried it again and I think i've had a little too much Gluhwein in my previous assertive posts.

What actually happens is that it breaks combo but you counter-hit nearly anything they throw, and start your combo over. It ends up being 5 hits in rapid succession ending with the 4-hit combo, rather than a 5 hit combo. It's effective because most people are blocking backward, rather than low+backward, so it really does a lot of great things.

However another update would be possible, the original sf4 received three updates concerning fighters so I expect an update next year:).
I hope capcom don't release another street fighter with 4 characters and some minor update like Volt!

Honestly? I don't even mind if they do that! I'd be first in line to buy the new one (especially at 99cents or whatever it would be introduced at).

A huge new audience + all the hardcore from the old audience. I don't mind at all.

    You listening, Capcom?

    BRING IT!

Same here. Ranked seems to be all about gimmicks unless you end up playing the same person more than 2 or 3 times. I think I psych myself out mentally sometimes though when playing ranked, especially if I'm playing someone with a lot more BP than I have.

How was the connection for your matches? When he and I played, there were a ton of lag spikes and most of my inputs got dropped. I want to play him again, but I don't know if I want to deal with the lag.

Your Yun was pretty good, you ought to stick it out with him a bit longer. Fei's really good though too like Nullroar said. He's got some of the easiest punishes in the game and he's ultra safe. SF4 isn't a rushdown game so playing rushdown characters isn't going to work out as well as it did in previous games.

On a separate note, and only because someone brought up the game a page or so back, I wonder if SNK will put online in King Of Fighters-i. I'd love to play some folks online in that game. Do any of y'all play that one too?

In this case it's better Capcom release new fighter with the app-in-purchase method. The old sf4 is useless now with volt and without support.

    The low tier.
I don't play SF4 on a console, so I was wondering if someone who does could answer a question for me.

In Volt with Fei Long, if you hit a standing still opponent with ANY chicken wing, you can combo into flame kicks every time. But if you hit an opponent either in a startup or who has whiffed a move, the flame kicks whiff sometimes after the chicken wing. Is this also true in the console version?

Yup that is most certainly in the console version as well.

I'm always so surprised none of you guys play the real game. If I ever become rich I'm buying you all 360's, Arcade Edition, and Fightsticks...

Haha I just made B with Seth, I think I'm somewhere around 1200-1300 and I 5100 BP, I don't really play ranked much cause it's sooooo depressing watching the amount of PP you lose compared to how much you gain per match.

I thought you left this thread? But yea, like nullroar said, im more than willing to pay for another sf app. People get too stingy over the app store. Remember when people were complaining about paying $1 for online multiplayer and new characters....

Swear to god I fat fingered a few - including an FADC-that-didn't-work more than once.

But even if I nailed all of them, I still would have gotten my keister whooped hard. That was the worst beating I've had in a long time. :D

GGs. We have do that more soon.

While we are talking about things we wish would be in the next version I want to add my two cents. The last couple days I've been trying to practice, normally I'd play the computer on grueling but it's too freaken easy for me:( so I play some friendly matches which are too easy or I end up playing someone from here and you guys are better than the CPU on grueling so I really don't get to practice because I just end up get my ass kicked.

So my wish? Better CPU AI. (and I would love it if they got rid of blankas damn block stun, pressing super/ultra for 4 seconds in a row and getting nothing is a real bitch!).

Off topic, what's the best way to practice? What do you guys do to get better? I don't seem to improve when I use the training room:(

The thing with grueling ai is it can react instantly. So if i try to go for a throw on their wakeup then they can jump away or uppercut in time. If i mash cr p then theyll uppercut. But then they do stupid stuff, like deejay always slides when you charge a focus. I sttongly recommend not playing the ai, itll give you bad habits. And i use the training room to practice combos and setups. Blanka doesnt have any hard combos (that i know of) so maybe practice safe jump ins after a knockdown. Set the dummy to record with ryu and mash dp. Then set it to play and see what mixup options you have after a throw, slide, ultra etc.

    The low tier.
The biggest thing that is wrong about the CPU AI is that it routinely punishes 3 frame normals with ultra, ON REACTION. OH LOOK, YOU GUESSED RIGHT AGAIN

I practice by learning basic bread and butter combos in training mode, then hitting online for a bit. I play until I find a situation that I don't know how to react to, then I go back to training mode and recreate it. Rinse and repeat. Watch some character videos on youtube now and then to get ideas, and back to online matches.

I think it's his deceiving speed, that damn long standing kick of his, and the big damage he does that gets me (although can someone confirm this since I found a Bison guide which lists one of his weaknesses as low damage?). It's amazing how often I get caught by his standing kick. Maybe it's just me but I find it's really hard to judge when I have enough room to jump away safely. Sometimes I even end up taking two of them in a row to the face.

Bison also has good options to punish Dhalsim's teleport. If my opponent looks to be crouch blocking, that's an invitation to teleport and air punch. With Bison, depending on the height of the teleport, I've been caught a bunch of times by Bison's head press or Ex head press, which can punish air teleports. Be careful though. Good Dhalsims see this coming and a higher than normal teleport allows an air punch to connect before the head press. Another option for punishing teleports is obviously the psycho crusher, which can work regardless of which side Dhalsim teleports to (if it's the opposite side it just turns psycho crusher into Ex psycho crusher).

Overall I'd say your best option is to be very aggressive. Bison is deadly once he gets an opponent in the corner and Dhalsim may be the worst corner character in the game. Also, it seems that just about every time Bison touches Dhalsim he gets a knockdown. Be aggressive on wakeup. But on the other hand, fffan has a really good Bison but beat me without being too aggressive.

We can do some friendlies sometime if you want to practice the matchup.

Sorry, I fell asleep last night. Hopefully soon though.

And maybe I'm just old, but I don't get a lot of what you post. :D
