I only know of cammy from fighting her from dhaslim and makoto perspectives but I could see that getting frustrating vs turtles. Your to good to quit Snooper maybe take a Character brake for a bit. Try Makoto for a bit
Akumas can grab crouching opponents, or he can do an armor breaking overhead with no recovery, or a divekick. Why cant cammys But yea, as we all know, if in doubt, uppercut.
no i didnt mean you, i meant random online people. played a ken just before. we both sat there for 10 secs and then i stood up and quickly crouched so he uppercutted. i wasnt even in range. stuff like this just annoys me
There's a lot of shitty shotos out there snooper, but don't let it get you down. Your cammy is good enough to beat them all.
Shes not though. What started my whole rant was losing to n3ro in the tournament. He just sat there and did low forward-fireball the whole time. Im gonna have to watch some vids and go through some forums, i love cammy, but like ive said for a long time its so easy to play lame against her. OK no more ranting from me, ive taken up like three pages [end]rant[/end] Edit: No disrespect to n3ro though. His strategy was working well so he had no reason to stop. My gripe is with character designs, the vast majority of new players using shotos and the mindset that if a character doesnt have an uppercut then theyre useless. I respect people who have put time into playing their character and know what theyre doing
Just seemed a bit hard to get all the combo's out with the iPhone. I would have thought the iPad is a bit easier to play on.
I find it a bit tricky myself I find it to be a bit streaky right now I am on a miss streak. If you remember any of the times makoto was right next to your character and just randomly punched over her head? That was me messing up a combo start. I think it's a function of non tactile buttons versus size of buttons at least for me.
I hear the frustration people are feeling, but to me part of what I love (and sometimes hate) about Volt is trying to learn characters to deal with my bad matchups. There's no way to make Volt as even as console versions because they have so much less to work with on iOS. I'd love them to even out Dhalsim's matchups with characters like Cammy, Bison and Blanka, but I accept those bad matchups because Dhalsim can pretty easily handle the turtling types and the shoto types (Sagat may be an exception, but I can't really decide). If I'm playing someone who plays a good Bison, Cammy or Blanka, I want to have other characters to go to. So far, I don't have a go-to character but it's fun (and admittedly frustrating at times) learning to beat characters that I have trouble with. As for frustration with seeing the same characters over and over, I think some people are just getting unlucky. I go through boring stretches, but lately I've seen a ton of variety. I've seen four different Sakuras today. Recently I've seen stretches of a lot of Blankas, Zangiefs and a couple others. In my opinion, bad stretches don't last long in this game. And just as a side note, I do think people focus too much on huge combos. Against good players, I generally get hit with a good combo or two, but I'm able to make up for it with a lot of smaller combos. The cost/benefit often isn't worth it given the disproportionate damage done.
Your correct about some of the frustration. I knew when I decided to play one character that I was gonna have bad match ups and start off in the hole versus other characters and I was ok with that. On the other hand when you see so influx of new players all choose the same characters and all spam the same moves you know the balance is more than a little off and more than a little obvouis. At that point you can genuinelly call it a design flaw and call it out. I know this is pretty non scientific but when I first picked up Makoto I was having a hell of a time vs srk/tiger upc so I decided to set up a CPU match of me playing ken simply spamming his standerd srk regardless of situation vs CPU on grueling playing Makoto. I fig I could get a idea of what to do vs srk/TiUpc the result. A Ken KO every single time without fail blindly spamming srk. That was less than encouraging. I don't think I am alone thinking a little more balance would be welcome just do we can maybe see a bigger variety of match ups in game.
There was this one Ken who I just let spam Shoryuken (because it wasn't like he was using anything else), and all I did was Falling Sky, Falling Sky, and so on. Beat him easily like that and he RQ'd. Now I have the setting "More Skilled" on permanently. Also, I was doing some experimenting and Abel's Roll + Tornado Throw (only on hit though) get you around 70% of a blue bar. And Zangief's something-or-other-backwards-doublejump-suplex-thingy gets more blue bar than his SPD.
Can someone help me with dahlsim? I keep getting my ass kicked against good sim players (I main blanka). How do I upload or record the recorded matches? Nullroar are you good against good Sim players?
Cammy is begging for an overhead. It's like getting a strong zangief-like character that can only kick far away. Btw does anyone have strategies on the female characters? I suck at all of them. P.S. Snooper? Do you know any kara throws? Can't you jump back and do a safe spiral arrow or poke? Maybe poke once and let them overeact?
I would much rather cammy have a safe combo ender for chip than an overhead. Nope. You cant kara or meaty throw because you can only throw when you are in throw range, if that makes sense. I might do a big write up on cammy sometime. Yea i do like to do safe spiral arrows. Then you can follow up with throw if you think theyll block or dp if you think theyll try and punish. Bit of a gimmick though, cant really make it your whole gameplan.
He's easier than Ryu or Sagat, but definitely not a pushover. Block low at the first second of the match. Your best friends in this match are max-range river runs and rainbow balls...but they are also your best friends in every match Work on air cross-ups when you get a hard knockdown if he doesn't have super. Be prepared to river run over to where he teleports. If he fireballs and you are out of the FB max range, you can actually do a quick random elec - if he jumps neutral or backwards, it's very likely he'll try to tele on top of you.
Thanks. I try to get close to him and I succeed but I just don't punish him enough when I'm close. The good sims seem to know how far they need to be so I can't just land in front of them and if I rainbow or ball they know they can block and counter with their long punch. Do you have any vids of you against kenken or any other good sims? I'd like to see what your strategy looks like in real time. I just feel like I'm missing some small piece of strategy...
Hello everyone! Found this place out from playing against Nullroar. I've actually played against Snooper as well so it's a bit amusing to see him here. Anyways, it was a pleasure playing against TA members and I hope to continue learnng and improving. Hopefully someday I will have the pleasure of going against other forum members as well! GC tag is the same above.
Hey man, nice to see ya here! We have tournaments and stuff going on all the time so you'll definitely get to play against us. For the record, Fffan and Shoryutofu are mega beastly - I have nightmares of both of them. Definitely try your luck
